And that's how he started to mess up badly. I am not saying that from the beginning he wanted to only appeal to one type of audience, but if you get into the habit of trying to make music to appeal to everyone so you can maximize your sales, you are going to compromise yourself. Albums like Dangerous and History are not albums of perfection but albums that spell contrieved all over them.

Well, that's your opionion! I think Dangerous and HIStory are two all around great albums, more daring than Thriller! With songs where everyone can find something they like!

And I think the sales argument is just the sideeffect of wanting to please everyone! Michael comes from a different background. His goal is not to release as much music as possible, he could do that, if he wanted, his goal is to bring the best possible joy and entertainment to the world! The more people who enjoy his music, the better! There is nothing wrong with that... it's just a different approach to things!

Whatsgoingon is an old school fan -- meaning that he or she loves his '60s and '70s output. I think everyone is entitled to their own opinions when it comes to music. If he or she dislikes most of his work from the Bad album on, that is fine, I think. There are other people who dislike his pre-Thriller work. But whatsgoingon brings a lot of knowledge to the forum about his Motown years. biggrin You will find more about the likes and dislikes of orgers as you get to interact more with them in threads related to Michael Jackson.

I agree with you that Dangerous and HIStory are awesome albums. In particular I think the latter is underrated and misunderstood. Some of his best songs are on HIStory....

ive been a hardcore fan for years.. but i honestly dont think we will see a new album... there's been zero build up.. and usually the build up starts years before the release.. noones seen or heard from mike in months and no work has been done in any major studios, it would have been leaked if he was recording.

he doesnt have a record deal... hell he doesnt even have a website..

even if he started recording now at a rapid pace it will still be years before we hear anything.

Alot of people are just not interested.

I predict that this album won't see the light of day.

It would be so funny if his cd flops just like Janet's

Like I keep mentioning before, MJ is not being ban listed from his major market (Pop music) like Janet's, and thats why she's suffering. Not just be mediocre music. I thought All For You was bland, and that was her most successful album to date. Had the Superbowl fiasco not happened, Damita Jo would of done just as well. Funny, because Damita Jo is a way better album than AFY.

Agree. Damita Jo is a better album than All For You.
