"island life" is a good intro to grace, but "compass point sessions" is essential grace jones to me - it's pretty much the best of the best. beyond that, i'd get the studio albums "nightclubbing", "warm leatherette" and "living my life". i think they hit 'em out of the park with those three albums.

good point...though i think just to enjoy the "feel" of each album, it's nice to have the original studio albums...though the versions on compass point ARE better and the sound quality is superior too.

And it's nice to have the actual sleeves.

Ivy and I are in good company ~ the same fabulous friend has been playing Compass Pointe for us non~stop ~ thank you sweetie . I know a lot of people have trouble with it, but She's Lost Control is just amazing by her (doesn't beat out Joy Division's but it is still bone chilling). I just ordered the Compass Pointe Sessions ~ can't get them out of my head. I too think she is stunningly beautiful. Unlike anyone ~ her singular style thrills me ~ I can't stop looking at pictures and album covers ~ a coffee table photo book would be a great idea ~ Hey Gangsta ~ why don't you call her and arrange a photo shoot????

I rememberd there was a clip on Youtube where they showed her and Rick James presenting an award for Marvin Gaye at the 1983 Grammys. I don't know if youtube still has the clip or not but it was so funny how Rick was constantly flirting with her and she seemed to want to back away from him. I thought it was rude of Rick James where he kept wanting to give her a kiss right there on the stage while Marvin Gaye was giving thanks to his family and others. That goes to show that even Rick James have found her simply breathtaking.
