Australia, I think, has the best music in the world. in fairness, America does beat us because, after all, they invented rock and roll. But still, Australia has a very rich and under-rated musical heritage. And I don't know if this is a true fact or not (because I heard it from James Matheson) but I do believe that Australia is the only country in the world whose record sales have actually improved since last year.

Since Australia is probably third after the US and the UK in terms of worldwide music sales, I will just do music from my hometown (Brisbane). This way other Australian orgers can do Sydney, Perth, Melbourne and wherever else has produce some find Australian acts. So here are some Brisbane artists...

The Bee Gees - Spicks & Specks
The Sunnyboys - Alone With You
Powderfinger - (Baby I've Got You) On My Mind
Regurgitator - Song Formerly Known As
Savage Garden - Break Me, Shake Me
Bernard Fanning - Wish You Well

more to come

Well I'm actually from the UK, but Japan has been my adopted home for a while now, so here goes...

My favourite Japanese artist is probably Cornelius (solo pseudonym of Keigo Oyamada, a former member of Flipper's Guitar).
Good places to start are the albums 'Fantasma' and 'Point'.
As a bonus, his videos are cool

Ball In Kick Off
Count Five or Six
