A single from their last great album, notice Helen Terry`s amazing voice...

I agree. I have always hated this song. I was hoping for a single that was close to "Miss Me Blind" or "Time" and we get "The War Song". sad

Um, I never liked this song either. It did seem a tad silly but I do like Helen’s voice.

"The medal song" was another single, anyone like that one?

She was a HUGE part of the group. George had a BEAUTIFUL voice, but she gave that little extra (or rater, a lot) to the songs.

Too bad she didn`t earn the success she deserved. Her solo album was a disappointment...

Not liking The Medal Song either.

I think any of their tunes with the word ‘song’ in them left much to be desired.

Their next album was a mistake, i don`t think i`ll ever pay money for that one.

The last studio album, "Don`t mind if i do" was a pleasant suprise though

The last album had two singles. "Your kisses are charity" was a decent song...

They play this song a lot on Music Choice's Retro-Active channel. That's how I discovered it.

See this review by Christgau, regarding The War Song

"This Time: The First Four Years -- Twelve Worldwide Hits [Epic/Virgin, 1987]
Stephen Holden thinks kids liked Boy George's singing more than I did because he evoked not a soul man but a synthesizer. Right: a synthesizer who wants to be your friend. His music is too nice to withstand much critical scrutiny, which means he's best when he puts a vaguely dishy edge on his female-identified pansexual humanitarianism: "Karma Chameleon," "Church of the Poison Mind," "Black Money." And the topper is "The War Song," which contributed more conspicuously to his U.S. downfall than mere heroin abuse. "War is stupid/And people are stupid"--now is that nice? B+"

Do you know that there was a Spanish version of that song and that it was kind of popular in Latin America?

Boy George was singing with accent: Porque la guerra es estúpida, y la gente es estúpida. What a stupid idea!

Actually From Luxury to Heartache had some really good songs on it like Heaven's Children. It just got no promotion because of his drug habit. It's actually a much better album than Waking Up.
But Don't Mind If I Do was a much better album than either Luxury or Waking Up.

Time is damn good. Just a solid song all the way around. I also really really love Mistake Number 3. One of my last faves by them.

I didnt discover the Medal Song until I bought the '89 greatest hits cd back 93 er so. I kinda liked it. "Some go east...some go west..."

The War Song isnt bad I don't think. Maybe a little corny but Culture Club was never high art.

Miss Me Blind is the CUT! Best thing they ever did. And that crazy Asian-themed video with George in full Geisha garb? AWESOME! What guy in the 80s didnt wanna fuck "her"?

I loved it when I was young and still do. The video is so weird that it's cool. I learned the word stupid because of this song hahah his voice is gorgeous in it though. Something about the song reminds me of MJ too for some reason.
