By the sound of her voice in the trailors I'm a little skeptic. She needs more base in her voice...like Justice did Than again, I don't know what type of character she's playing so I should reserve judgment. Poetic Justice is pure shit. Pac was the only worthwhile thing in that movie - I love Regina King but her scenes w/ Joe Torry (sp?) were unbearable (unbearably ghetto!), the writing in the entire film was terrible with the exception of Maya's poems (I still can't believe they roped her into that mess!). & any time you can make Tyra Ferrell look bad in a film you've got some plastic shit on your hands! Where IS she by the way? But back to Janet - she's super stiff acting, always has been. BUT she's sweet & pretty, & therefore deserves to be on screen as much as any of these other little wanna be actresses they put up there. Most often the criteria for female "actresses" is beauty, body & the ability to read - she has all those, so why not

The script was weak but John Singleton got his multi-picture deal and unfortunately was into casting his crushes. Read: Higher Learning. I thought Janet butchered Maya’s poems. It hurt me to hear her recitation. Unbelievable to me that they let that ish fly. They definitely needed someone who could convey Maya’s work properly. You don’t just read a Maya poem and that’s all Janet did. [Edited 8/17/07 8:52am] Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

I don't know what kind of cosmic voodoo magic happened on Boyz (well, probably Lawrence & Angela being extremely generous with advice ) but the mf hasn't done anything good since. He's really something - still able to have a career after such unimpressive work. He's like Michael Bay but without the explosions . [Edited 8/17/07 8:54am]

janet's best acting ever was on good times, but she doesn't appear bubbly or funny anymore when she acts, which is why a lot of people have a problem with her doing movies. I know she's not oscar worthy at this point, but seeing her act every few years is always a treat, since she always talks about reading scripts and all.

she admitted that she wasn't used to cursing in general until she did this movie. If she did poetic justice in recent years, maybe it would have been a little more convincing in terms of her role.

thats why I don't use curse/profanity words.. because it just doesnt sound or look right on me... its like i bet people who don't even know me.. would be looking at me... like something is wrong.. if they heard me use the F, S, B, or D word I have said a curses words in my life.. but I can count on my one hand and I know how old I was, why I said it and where it was.... 1. first time.. i was little 5 years old and this older girl kept telling me to say all these bad words... i did not know what they were.. and she kept pressuring.. so i said some words.. I can't remember what I said... but i think it was bad 2. I was in 6th grade.. and this girl kept calling me a B****h because i was friends with a girl she hated and she was a fat bully... so I tried to call her the word back.. but could not get it out right... I said it in a whisper... and was so terrified of saying it... 3. I was in middle school 7th grade.. (Im not going into detail because you guys don't need to know all my business) I got into an argument with my dad.. and said a bad word... actually this when me and my siblings lived with my dad.. we all said a curse word 4. I was in 7th grade still living with my dad.. and I got into a nasty fight with my little brother... and I said a curse word.... then I moved with my mom.. during the 8th grade.. and never said curse words again... its just not me...
