Yes. And I really like Prince's new wave infuenced stuff. My fave bands from the era are Adam and the Ants, Blondie, The Police and Scritti Politti.

OMG! I Love Adam & The Ants 1980 album. I recently downloaded it (legally) and I was really impressed with his sound prior to "Goody Two Shoes" and "Strip". I really loved Prince on "Dirty Mind" to the extreme.

Blondie & Debbie Harry are all time faves for sure.

Yes the Motels were considered (for a time) to be at the forefront of L.A. new wave in the early 80's. Blondie? come on. you can't be that uninformed, can you?

I got seriously into music in 79 so I suppose it's my era, although I do remember growing up with glam rock & disco on the radio so I have a soft spot for that too. Btw, never heard Missing Persons. I don't think they made it here in the UK.

Great bands from the new wave era: The Jam, The Police, The Pretenders, Elvis Costello, Blondie, Squeeze, The Specials, Adam & The Ants, The Jags, The Beat, The Vapors, Madness, Ian Dury, Joy Division... the list goes on. I know not all are considered new wave but they all reached a peak between 79-81

I know very little about UK music. I know that Missing Persons had a couple of Top 40 hits in the USA in the early 80's and had videos played on MTV. The lead singer, Dale Bozzio, was an ex-Playboy bunny, and was a backup singer in Frank Zappa's band. Dale signed to Prince's Paisley Park record label in 1988. Prince wrote the song "So Strong" for the album RIOT IN ENGLISH.

I didn't mean to be rude. Blondie was considered punk, new wave, disco, pop, etc. They were really all of those styles at different times.

hell yeah! loves me some new wave like Adam and the ants, Berlin, Soft Cell and ABC but i like other bands that dabbled in new wave as well. Shalamar did some new wave albums in the 80's, as did Rockwell and Klymaxx! i love my new wave funky!
