Apparently, Carey isn't the only one Friedman Shills For

I sort of feel sorry for this guy now that his dealings have been made public. I wonder how somebody maintains his job after all this. This is (apparently) a letter from Harvey Weinstein, formerly of Miramax, to Roger in Novermber of 2005:

Roger:

Thank you for sitting down with Lenny to talk about the future documentary. You are a great friend, coworker, and the best entertainment columnist in the world. However, it is painful for me to say that the Weinstein Company cannot fund the documentary at this time. Both Bob and I have decided that a movie that aims to destroy public figures such as J-Lo, Tommy Mottola, Michael Jackson, Tom Cruise, and others will not only cause multiple lawsuits, but doesn’t seem like the movie that we can profit from professionally or financially. We have just started The Weinstein Company last month and have to be very select in our choices.

That said, I want to thank you for, once again, standing up for Bob and I in your columns while telling the truth about Michael Eisner. Besides defending us, you have helped create a lot of buzz for our films during our Miramax years and this is something will never forget. Till this day, Only the Strong Survive remains one of our most loved documentaries. We would love to work with you on a similar project in the future.

Even though we have changed companies, we will always give you early access to our films, press releases, and anything else you would like. When I’m back in New York City, I would also like to get together and talk to you about “something else.” Keep up the good work and I’ll be in touch very soon.

Sincerely,
Harvey

That´s a mystery to me too. I hate Roger.

Could you please post a source of this?

"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

This is good news, I dislike Roger with a passion.
