Tampax Was There!

I was just listening to the radio, and the classic Let It Whip by the Dazz Band came on. I've known and liked that song since it was first released, but I cannot hear it anymore without thinking of that damn Tampax commerical from a few years ago with the Gramblings cheerleaders. Tampax is so funky, it even had the referees doin' a little jig.

Are there songs - good or bad - that you cannot help but associate with commercials?

Yeah...

- Jean Knight's "Mr. Big Stuff" is forever ruined for me from the Oreo Doublestuff commercials. confused (didn't we have a conversation about this very thing before Dan? hmmm lol )

- and of course the California Raisins doing "I Heard it Through the Grapevine"

I'm sure I'll think of many more in a bit. I'm like Rain Man when it comes to remembering commercials and exact dialogue/songs and all that. lol

Yup, thought another one...

- "Mack the Knife" was used (although they changed the lyrics) in a McDonalds commercial that had some scary moon guy onstage singing it. shake "It's Mac tonight!"

Well, yeah that goes without saying for me. lol I was pretty young when that ad was out, so the original was ruined for me AFTER that because I can't help but think of that commercial.

Probably. biggrin I just thought maybe I was drunk when I talked about this before with you and couldn't remember. razz

Wow, we just must have brilliantly deep conversations together when we go out. You know, talking about songs in commercials, Chloe Sevigny's clothes and whatnot. lol
