Michael Jackson's Superfly Sister is one of the funkiest tracks from the 90s...

I never realised how funky it was until I heard it just recently...

I'd love to hear MJ do some old-skool funk on his new record...

the moneyapolis remix was good too

the songs on BLood on the dance floor should of been included in History...If history wasn't a double LP and had those songs on their, It would've been masterful,

Call The Album "Morphine"
With MJ on the cover, strapped to a chair, with a doctor, played by Corey Feldman injecting him!

1. Scream
2. They Don't Care About Us
3. Stranger In Moscow
4. This Time Around
5. Earth Song
6. D.S.
7. Money
8. Come Together
9. You Are Not Alone
10. Ghost
11. Tabloid Junkie
12. 2 Bad
13. Morphine
14. Superfly Sister
15. Is it scary
16. Blood On The Dance Floor

Would've truly made History... lol

Now this tracklisting I agree with!!!! woot! And since "Morphine" and "Superfly" are graphic, it would've been enough to give the album a parental advisory sticker. lol

I'm saying
Money, has like the funkiest beat, Superfly Sister, is just some Stank funk
And with Dirty Esque Anthems like, Morphine you can't go wrong,
If i could go back in time i'd release it like this,
I'd Follow the single Release style of Bad
1. You Are Not Alone
2. Morphine
3. Superfly Sister
4. Earth Song
5. Scream

ooooweee that would've sold like gangbusters!

It sure would but I'd rather release:
Scream
You Are Not Alone
Superfly Sister
Blood on the Dance Floor
Stranger in Moscow

I think that's how it'll go had it been like that in America but yours look perfect in the UK.

Also the HIStory (Tony Moran's HIStory Lesson) could be released in nice radio edit...

no you're not. wink

by the way EmbattledWarrior i understand the flow your talking about but i just love those three songs of little susie, smile and history. I think little susie especially is the sort of song that was unexpected and something i would like to hear more of.

Maybe if MJ had revamped "Monkey Business" and put it in HIStory. Harder beats...more new jack swing meets a nightmare of bass.

Exactly, maybe if he was making a ballads album, maybe. "Childhood" would've probably gotten better reviews. falloff lol I know he calls this his most personal but EEK! I do dig "Smile" though. nod

Childhood always made vomit...
It's MJ's peeter pan side, which i don't like very much
smile is nice, and a great tribute to Chaplin,
but belonged on a Ballad album, as you say

Matter of fact, I'd always wanted Mike to do that, rather than trying to mix sounds in one album. The last stellar album he made which it didn't matter what sound he use on it was the "Dangerous" album. Michael always strives to be an artist, I feel, but he's always caught in the middle of pleasing fans, the music industry and himself, in the end, he sometimes comes with egg on his face because certain songs were probably pasted on the album by him and Sony. If he could, he could do a ballads album, a funk album, a dance album, a soul album, a rock album, etc., and just promote it through venues and halls and try to build a fan base that appreciates his diversity rather than being "the king of pop". I always thought that title had some kind of painful stigma that he didn't want there because Michael always struck me as a guy who could do great experimental albums but his changing images and his affair with the press sabotaged that for years.

I love superfly sister though the song wasn't fit for 1997 IMO it definitely reminds me of prince though it definitely has the michael sound to it

I also think mj's come together is better than the original

the Tony Moran remix of HIStory was a Top 5 hit in the UK. I agree, Superfly Sister is funky as hell. To think it was recorded in 1990 for the Dangerous album and still sounds fresh TODAY is crazy.

Matter of fact, Superfly Sister and Blood On The Dancefloor were both recorded in 1990 or 1991 for Dangerous album. If you haven't heard Work That Body and She Got It, both are also pretty funky

They were both re-recorded in Switzerland in '97 ready for commercial release. By the way, do full versions of Work That Body and She Got It exist on the net? I've only ever heard clips on a loop.

I think they just remixed them and put them on the album LOL. Those looped versions are the only ones out there now, but some fans have them but just won't share mad

No, it's one of the least funky things he's ever done.

It sounds like those other songs from that era like Tabloid Junkie, Morphine, Money, DS then onto Privacy where he's not really singing (at least not in the Rock With You sense of the word) he's just quietly chanting or talking through it.

It sounds really dated now too.

i love this song i personally think it is one of his best but i always prefer the songs that havent been over played like bille jean i think it is a shame it wasnt a completely new album i think it would have sold alot more copies

although apparently blood on the dance floor is/was the biggest selling remix album in the uk

i would love to hear more songs from this album and his other 2 most recent albums (HIStory and Invincible) on the radio i think they are so underplayed and all 3 albums have some great songs on them

and i prefer michaels version of come together

Somehow I am not into Superfly sister that much.

I love Smile and Little Susie too. Maybe inconsistent with the album, but beautiful.
