In it, Tori says she doesn't want to become a parody of herself... or to grow old and not know when to stop.... She also makes references to hating the thought of being "shuffled" onto stage as an old woman.

She says that this will most likely be her last world tour, although she may do dates here and there....

Her exact words: "This is a big world tour, and I'm not planning to do another one. You have to understand when the sun is setting."

I find it really upsetting. Am a huge fan of the artist and just KNOW she has years of performance in her yet. Anyone who saw her in London this July knows she has amazing energy and drive on stage...

Kate Bush only did one tour, is that right?

Tori has pretty much toured with each album. I think she's done something like 10 world tours. 150 shows per album.

I'm glad I've met her twice, and that I've seen her in concert 4 times... but I just can't get enough... In a selfish way, I just want MORE....

She gives so much of herself in the shows ~ including the preparations and the meet n greets she often holds in the afternoon before the show. It's about creating a whole aura for her, not just a performance. I was fortunate to meet her and it was one of those life altering moments. She even asked someone in the crowd to take a picture of us. I was humbled and fell in love with her spirit as much as her music. Whether it's one more tour or 27, I'll be there ~ even if I have to be wheeled into the venue

Well, she began with a preamble "I'm not saying this is my last tour."

She loves to tour, she says she has lived to tour.

I have mixed feelings about this "becoming a parody of yourself" idea. It feels a little weak to me. I'd like to see women breaking the expectations of aging, rather than giving in. And considering she's such a feminist, I'm surprised to hear her say this.

Of course people will always bash a female artist for continuing to perform as they get older. What else have people got to do with their lives? I understand this. But as long as she has a solid fanbase and stays connected to the music? fuck it, keep touring

Now she's even copying Kate by not touring...just kidding!

Seems like since we're actually posting on a fan site, it wouldn't seem so "rabid" to have a serious interest in an artist and want to explore it.

But I suppose, just because I posted this, I'll be labelled "rabid". Same thing happens on the Madonna threads, when you're just trying to explore her work. People have referred to me as "frenetic", "fucked up" and a number of other things for enjoying talking about Madonna's work with some depth.

Oh yeah, we have to diss an artist to get some respect around here. I forgot. It's high school all over again.

yes i am telling you are taking all of this too serious because all i ever do is post pictures and emoticons...that's the extent of my participation within tori threads...it started off as a cute joke and has continued for years...not once have i ever dismissed folks musical taste...not once have i belittled folks opinions...i post pictures...

if you have had issue with folks in the past making fun of you for supporting tori then you best take it up with those folks and stop putting all your frustration on me...cause i aint the one.
