Singer R Kelly to be tried for child pornography http://news.yahoo.com/s/n..._rkelly_dc
CHICAGO (Reuters) - Grammy Award-winning R&B singer R Kelly will go on trial September 17 on child pornography charges, five years after the accusations were first made, prosecutors said on Wednesday. Kelly, 40, whose real name is Robert Kelly, faces up to 15 years in jail if convicted of videotaping himself having sex with an underage girl. Prosecutors have said the girl could have been as young as 13, but defense attorneys have disputed her age and whether Kelly is on the tape. The underground videotape was widely circulated. Kelly pleaded not guilty to the charges and in the interim has released hit songs, gone on tours, and released a DVD set of "hip-hopera" skits. Cook County Judge Vincent Gaughan said jury selection would begin September 17. The trial was delayed, in part, by arguments over when the video was made. It was also pushed back because the judge fell and broke bones and needed to recuperate.

Theres no way hes going to get convicted on this. Too much celebrity surrounding this case, funny how its starting right around the time he puts out more "trapped in the closets" so people will be buying that all up. He's had 5 years to save up resources for this case, he can buy the best legal team, just not going to happen whether he's guilty or not. Like Curt Schilling said recently about Barry Bonds, "if someone says you are guilty of something and you arent, and you arent out there sueing these MF's and kicking ass then you are admitting youre own guilt, especially when you settle out of court, you are just saying IM GUILTY!" "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

Its about time too...
This took way too long.. IF guilty (and my personal bet is that he is) then let's hope the prison has a spare room for a LONG time...

..or in the words of Katt Williams, "If a MFer calls you a crackhead for 20 years, b!tch, you are smoking crack!" (Off topic); Schilling is a hypocrite - he's running his mouth about Bonds, but he's quiet about the dudes he played with in Arizona that were juicing. What's up with that?

Thank the lord. Maybe he'll stop torturing us with his recent music now. "Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart." - Khalil Gibran

I wonder whether all those internet users who went out of their way to look at that tape over the net, know that they were committing an offence by looking at that filth.

Exactly. That recent song with Usher? That sounds like something Chris Brown and Bow Wow should be doing.

Exactly. That recent song with Usher? That sounds like something Chris Brown and Bow Wow should be doing. Ditto. But I suspect that's how he keeps 'in touch' with his young audience. I couldn't believe how young some of the girls sounded at listening party I caught a piece of over the radio. Very juvenile. But then so is his music. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off
