Are you watching Live Earth?

Just got up and saw Jack Johnson. Now Linkin Park are playing.

I'm so cynical about these kinds of events. Is Snoop Dogg bothered about climate change when he's driving in his Hummer or any number of these artists when they tour the world spewing carbon emmissions.

I'm realy not interested in the whole issue but all these people tag onto these events like Live 8 now Live Earth knowing they're going to reach a mass audience i.e. pushing their music sales through the roof! I'd be more convinced if they all donated the sales from a single off their album. I'm glad Prince hasn't bothered with these things in the past and hope he's not part of it today. I'd respect them more if they weren't so hypocritical.

I did also and i dont care and iam not watching this
soul less money show. Those artists on stage only care
about sales and the people watching tham only care about the music.

Its a real shame since the world is melting. sad

Yep. The London show sort of kicks ass actually. hmmm

Duran Duran were REALLY good I thought. And the Chili Peppers too, although they played newer stuff that I don't really like all that much.

The direction is super annoying.
They're shooting some of these concert performances like they're music videos.
5 seconds-cut, 2 seconds-cut, 4 seconds-cut, 10 seconds-cut...nutty

Restrict the director to a decaf & valium diet.

Enrique cut into the Metallica set at Wembley which was bad enough, then the BBC completely cut Enter Sandman to go some place else. My TV nearly went through the window at this point.
Oh well, I'm seeing them at Wembley tomorrow so it's not all bad news.
Metallica in July, Prince in August, it's all good. cool

I was really pumped to watch it, I've got nothing else to do today so I've made a whole day out of it so far. For some reason I think these things are gonna be so much fun (live8 etc.) but I never end up liking a majority of the talent so now I'm thinking of turning it off after I finally see Madonna in London(soon).

I'm actually just like that. I remember being very excited for Live 8, but getting bored with some of the talent.

Random thoughts...

~ Duran Duran + I want To Take You Higher = disbelief

~ Alicia Keys shouldn't f%#k with Merry Clayton.
She looked damn good though.

The most interesting thing i've seen up to this point was Blues Nation (Wash. D.C. stage)
Native-Americans playing the Blues.

Other notable performances so far:
Soweto Gospel Choir
Spinal Tap Reunion

Pretty tired overall.
