Hail to the funkateers!

I just want to acknowledge all those artists over the years that contributed to funk music for it seems to be a dying breed. As more artists today going to classic soul, pop-soul, and straight hip-hop, funk is drifting away as well as it heroes. So I just want to say to all those who made it a very big Thank You! Your music will never die. So with much praise we love all of you. Parliament/Funkadelic, Cameo, George Clinton, Bootsy Collins, Charles Wright, Isley Bros., Ohio Players, Prince, Con Funk Shun, Bar Kays, Rick James, The Time, Andre Cymone', Jesse Johnson, Ready For The World, James Brown,
The Brothers Johnson, The Dazz Band, Roger & Zapp, The Commodores, Kool & The Gang, The Gap Band, GCS, and to those I may have forgotten. Bless you!
Peace and be wild!

In no particular order:

James Brown
Fred Wesley and the JB's
Parliament
Rick James
Prince
The Time
Me'Shell Ndegeocello

There are so many artists that might constitute "close calls" (like Me'Shell).

I'm always thankful for the funk and especially thankful for having grown up in the era when it was new and popular.

I envy you younger funk lovers who get to discover all that funk for the first time. However, there's nothing like living it while it was popular and getting the chance to party with friends and in the skating rinks to it. I just wish I had been older back then so I could have had fun in clubs with it and really had a ball. Shitney Houston first came out the summer after I graduated high school and fucked up my adult partying. Hell, I've been cheated. lol
