I DVR'd it and ffwd'd through all at X60 lol I only taped it in case Prince was on and maybe catch Madonna.

Didn't see anything that interested me. I saw 2 Madonna's. Crap new song, and a really shakey version of Ray Of Light that was the same as the recent tour. What's with the fucking dress? I thought she was over the June Cleaver look. confused Oh, and Hung Up. But I turned that off about 1 minute in. I can almost hear the me from 10 or 15 years ago screaming at me that I'm an old fucker and not really a fan and that I should be slapped. disbelief biggrin

~ Alicia Keys shouldn't f%#k with Merry Clayton.
She looked damn good though.

The most interesting thing i've seen up to this point was Blues Nation (Wash. D.C. stage)
Native-Americans playing the Blues.

Other notable performances so far:
Soweto Gospel Choir
Spinal Tap Reunion

Pretty tired overall.

Other entertaining performances..

The Police (minus the Kanye insertion)
John Mayer
Roger Waters

MSN Live Earth website hosts each individual song to playback in the video section.

Akon was annoyingly insincere yesterday, I'd wager he didn't have a clue why he was there. He just randomly said "Global warming!" at the end to stay on message. After thanking everyone for buying T-Pain's album and making him rich.

Maybe when he, Snoop et al aren't pushing giant military grade hummers in their videos they can make environmental stands without looking totally ridiculous.

I liked Rihanna's set in Tokyo by the way, check it out on the website. She has a nice show. All in all a good day of music I thought if nothing more.

Gotta say Madonna was seriously good tonight. Great songs, words, humour, arrangements, choreography, delicious moves and she looked stunning but above all what energy! I'm not normally a fan of her overly produced concerts but tonight I thought she blew the place away!

I think her performance on Live8 a few years ago was much more exciting, but she was pretty good.

Wow, too bad Bravo didn't show Cat Stevens' (Yusuf) set. Did he perform the songs in their original form or did he change them up? I saw Peace Train from a Nobel Peace concert on youtube, and while it was different, it was still a beautiful song.

As far as I know he played them in their original form:

"Ruins":
http://www.youtube.com/wa...w1Ve0n4RLg

"Saturn" (Stevie Wonder cover)

"Peace Train"

His set was at the same time as Madonna's set in London. So most stations showed Madonna.

I thought Alicia Keys was good. Its funny, as I was comparing her to Joss Stones performace and the thing with Stone is she straight copies the greats like Aretha, but emotes no soul. Keys does. Stone has the voice and moves, but it just seems forced to me. Bon Jovi sing with more passion.

nod Agreed. Bravo should put religious biases aside and focus on the music for change. Cat Stevens/Yusef stills gives a great performance and is due some repsect as an artist. They did his fans an injustice.

Just FYI,though I agree with the corny americans , For The USA this was a holiday weekend, celebrating our Declaration Of Independence. Also NJ is just a stone throw from NYC so theres a certain higher level of patriotism since 9/11. Melissa was just pumping the crowd up.

Personally I think she went on a bit too long with her political statement, but overall she gave one of the best performances at that venue.

Sorry to be harsh, but we in UK at least, dont take ramblings like that. And if someone does a speech like hers, we laugh at it. 9/11, I know. Heck, UK gets more terrorist bombings then USA, but we dont do that shit. Shame she did that, as her segment was very good. I lived in USA aswell, its patriotism scares me a little.

nod Yea, amazing.
When i 1st heard they were reforming, i thought it was a big mistake, but Neil Finn is pure class and the Crowded House shirt fits him well. It was great to see a pure musician like him bring the crowd to such heights. Simple, fun, moving. It was magic. Put many other so called bigger acts on the day to complete shame. Did you have fun? I worked at the show! I felt bad because the weather was so shitty! That's why I love Germans, they will come out and really deal with any weather conditions under the sun or moon for a good show and a good cause. I think they clocked the crowd at 30,000 total (less than the others?), but even that made me feel really proud that people came anyway. cool
