Someone on this thread put forth Tricky's 'Blowback'. They must be trippin'! Blowback was a return to form after afew dodgy albums.

All for You was horrible, i really liked The Velvet Rope, but A4U, damn, i just couldn't blieve how shitty that was, i'm still wondering what went wrong there.

I disagree Sly. I loved 'Angels With Dirty Faces' all of its b-sides, "Juxtapose", the "Mission Accomplished" ep. I hate the presence of Hawkman on what seems like all of the "Blowback" tracks. I think he drags the album down and makes it really muddled and boring. Tricky's vocal presence is severely lacking on this and "Bury the Evidence" was ruined in this studio version. I'm hoping he ditches Hawkman and that whole sound. Juxtapose sounded new and fresh to me and Angels was revealing, personal and trippy as fuck. It seemed to me like he was taking his sound as far as it could go with Angels. After that, he made something new. Too bad he couldn't stick with it. Just my twocents.

Right, so I'm agreeing that "Blowback" is rubbish. biggrin Actually, I just trust your judgment on this one. I don't know any of his material well enough to assess its quality, but I know that his earlier material does have a great edge to it. It's too bad I can't stomach it. sad

Just off of the top of my head these are a few.

Prince - Toss up between ATWIAD and New Power Soul.

STP - No. 4 maybe only two or three good songs on this cd
the rest are not stp's usual high quality.

Nelly - country grammer good but nellyville is better.

Lenny Kravitz - Lenny - circus is my fav I heart the song can't get you off of my mind.

Ja Rule - Pain is love - Can the man sing a song by himself anymore.

Kid Rock - History of Rock - This cd sucked ass
and the only good song on it was american badass.

I will be back if I think of anything else.

yup this is his latest one...the cd titled Lenny. I think it went downhill after his greatest hits which was before his one that is out now.

I think Lenny started going sour long before the Greatest Hits. "Again" is just a re-write of "Wherever U Go, Whatever U Do" and "Fly Away" and "American Woman" are incredibly inane.

OK, this is a little late, but better late than never. Actually, 1999 isn't my least favorite Prince album, I was just frustrated with it yesterday, and I do feel it is the most overrated. My least favorite Prince album is his second one, Prince.
