I love this album for the sheer musicianship. It is no frills, no gimmick jamming. I think Buddy and Billy just provided the perfect rhythm for Jimi to explore and soar with his guitar playing. I am new to Hendrix. I was only 5 years old when he died. In the last 2 weeks, I have bought 4 Hendrix CDS, 4 Hendrix DVDS and 2 bios. Needless to say, I have become engrossed with JIMI. At this point, I really like AYE because it is raw, and it just kicks ass. I love the BOG album. I like the groove and funk that Buddy Miles was putting down. It would have great to see what the BOG could have accomplished. | |

Electric Ladyland all the way. Somehow it sounds richer than Are You Experienced. And it's got that great version of All Along The Watchtower. I also love Voodoo Chile.  | |

I go between them all depepnding on my mood. I'm not a fan of the later stuff that took a Hendrix idea from the studio and brought in other musicians to finish the songs. Thanks but not thanks, vultures.

Yes, i read them too. So your aware of jimi's behaviour. Pretty dissapointing though; don;t you think to find out what your fav artist is really like? It is amazing to find out more about artist. Prior to my reading, I knew how he died, but I did not know the circumstances surrounding his death. I really believe his life could have been saved. | |

"E.L." is his best "produced" album. "Axis" is his most beautiful. But "Are You Experienced" is my favorite. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

Good to see the return of TA's classic Hendrix overview. Always very informative that.
My fav albums would be 'Electric Ladyland' and 'Axis'. I'm also very fond of 'First Rays' and even more, the sometimes controversial 'Voodoo Soup', which imo has better mixes than 'First Rays' of some of Jimi's final works. The two 'Live at Berkeley' sets are also great. | |

electric ladyland without a doubt it's so crazy good, experienced is good because of all the hits, but is kind of overplayed to me. I like the flow of the Electric Ladyland album. The music really takes you on a "trip" | |

Actually Aud it's the "Record Plant NYC" sessions with one side Larry Young and the other side John McLaughlin. But I always dug "Nine To The Universe" too. Not really "jazz", but you can hear the direction that Jimi was headed to. | |
