2004 Editions of Aaliyah's albums

As usual, I bring a question to the org experts. I've recently stumbled across 2004 editions of One in a Million and Aaliyah. It appears they feature a bonus track or two each, but I'm wondering if there is any other reason to pick these up. Are they remastered? Are there videos included?

Ultimate Aaliyah seemed like a cheap cash-in, which is why I'm hesistant to buy these. I don't think I've seen one for Age Ain't Nothing But a Number.

i was hoping a proper box set or at least singles collection would've come up by now; but i don't think we'll see one anytime soon. they'll probably milk it as much as they can.

Yeah, you're probably right! Until her record label decides to produce a comprehensive compilation, we can always make our own. Thank god for computer burners!

yeah. i did that twice. a friend of mine insisted that i make her one too. lol

a singles collection with complete videography, behind the scenes, and interviews would be nice. you know i can understand fans wanting more and more, and sadly enough record companys trying to squeeze out every dollar though an artist has passed on. but unfortunately she didn't have a huge catalogue or so many unreleased tracks to do so. i think when they keep doing cheap cash-ins (as Moonbeam put it), by the time they do decide to release a nice collection most people won't bother. shrug

Aren't the bonus tracks just selected songs from I Care 4 U? I'd stick with the original albums. They sound great already; I see/hear no need for remastering. I'm not sure if videos are included, though.

I'm a huge Aaliyah fan, but I can't imagine they'd but out a boxed set. There are only 4 albums. The middle two are fantastic, but there's enough good on the debut and I Care 4 U to make them worth owning as well. The only thing they really need to release IMO is either a hits compilation that includeds hard-to-find remixes (most notably the Stepper's Ball Remix of "At Your Best (You Are Love)") or an actual remix collection. But I'm still waiting for that Guy one, so...

The main problem is that Aaliyah's stuff is owned by three different labels here in the states, overseas its all under one thing thats why you see these compilations like "The Ultimate Aaliyah".. Here in the states, Blackground records owns most of her stuff, but we all know the issues with Blackground and its corrupt owner. Blackground at one point was part of wea (one in a million) and then cut loose and Emi took over for (Aaliyah) and of course Jive owns the first, and then the soundtrack stuff is all over the place, so basically your are dealing with 3 majors, and then a company owned by a corrupt relative, so it will be a long time, if ever, for a TRUE compilation of work video or audio.
