This is a sound I associate very much with summer. Some faves:
Danny Federici (E Street Band) is a B-3 whiz. "Crystal Blue Persuasion" has a nice B-3 part. Blue Rodeo has some nice B-3 on their records. Again, don't have the track here, but I believe that's a B-3 on "Joint 2 Joint"? Nice B-3 intro on "Like A Rolling Stone", but if I have to hear the story of how Al Kooper wasn't a keyboard player, yada, yada, yada, one more time... | |

Sure is. Here's a few more... I Can't Stand Myself - James Brown Rock Steady - Aretha Franklin Do You Know What I Mean - Lee Michaels Joe Tex - Buddy Miles Express Eli's Coming - Three Dog Night You've Made Me So Very Happy - Blood, Sweat & Tears Evil Woman - Spooky Tooth Hocus, Pocus - Focus ...from one B-3 freak to another, I won't even attempt to list all the Jazz tunes. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. Not really. It's just that I did a similar thread a while back... Favorite Pop/Rock/R&B Organ Tunes ...I'm a B-3 Head from way back. 60s Soul band The Mandala (from Canada)... ...had a great B-3 player in Josef Chirowski. "Joint 2 Joint": Live B-3 or Memorex?
I'm guessing a synth patch on that one. If not, that sound reminds me of the VOX/Farfisa type organ... Pump It Up - Elvis Costello 96 Tears - ? and The Mysterians She's About A Mover - Sir Douglas Quintet Wooly Bully - Sam The Sham & The Pharoahs I Can Help - Billy Swan House Of The Rising Sun - The Animals ...you hear in those tunes. Actually, Because - The Dave Clark 5 belongs in that list. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn.
