Chaka Khans daughter (pretty in pink) Anyone remember this girl group from 1990 (motown). Surprisenly, considering Chaka's daughter is on the album, you would think some en vogue type stuff? Well, one cut is like that ("testin' my love"), but the rest is mainly pop 1990 style. I.e, very uptempo in places, lots of layers of vocals, and loud, hyper drum programming and synth stabs. I love some of it, but despite the hi-tech production (and i do mean hi-tech), obviously Motown slept on this album This album is good fun, albiet very poppy. [Edited 6/27/07 22:28pm]

I remember them, but I wouldn't say fondly. They only really made minor noise with the first single, "All About U." Video Soul played that one fairly regularly. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

I remember them barely. I remember chaka and pip's appearance on video soul back in the day. At the end of the day pip was one and done like stacye and kimiko.
Didn't know the group was signed to motown. [Edited 6/28/07 21:10pm] Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

I'm almost afraid to listen to this LOL
I knew about the group but I didn't know they put an album out okay now I gotta add this to my Chaka collection along with some Taka Boom stuff (where should I start with her?) because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

Album Pretty in pink (called "wake up") should be dirt cheap, but unless you dont midn what I desribed above, you wont like it much. It is pop and very much 1990 pop at that. But you would never tell Chaka's daughter was in the group. Heck, they harmonize fine but the singing is nothing special (most of it is dried out by the synths, drum programmes, and sound effects anyway-which i love). Its a relic though, thats for sure.

I would love that I'll make an effort sometime this week (before Friday), to come back on here, and make an mp3 for you.
