1. When the lights came on and the camera zoomed in to reveal JENNIFER HUDSON I had flashbacks of when Whitney Houston got to open all the awards shows after The Bodyguard came out and 'I Will Always Love You' was everywhere. Well, Hudson's 'AND I AM TELLING YOU' was equally omnipresent but she never opened a show until now.
Glad they had to insight to allow this. She was wonderful. What an opening! And then she stopped to talk and begin an intro ... and I though' ugh! but then JENNIFER HOLLIDAY came out ... and well, I thought that was the best award moment or performance I've ever seen in my life. I know some said they were trying to outscream each other. But it was great to me. I will be You Tubing that forever. Holliday took Broadway by storm and made that song such a legend that you couldn't even watch Star Search in the 80s w/o some little girl belting out that song. It was awesome having her revive that song with Hudson. My FAVORITE MOMENT. 2. I love MoNique. She is funny. She even makes me watch the most stupid, shittiest shows (Charm School) just to see her. I'm not mad at her for keeping her Beyonce crush going. She did Crazy in Love last time and now she's doing Deja Vu -- hey that's different enough for me people. She can do Beyonce next year for all I care because those other BET hosts (like Will and Jada ) were so boring. And those fat chicks were fun to watch. Something different from what's normally on stage. 3. Erykah Badu BROUGHT IT. She was awesome -- totally created a vibe worthy of Ms. Ross and the delivered "Love Hangover" as it should have been. But WHERE WAS BEYONCE? I'm sorry if you need artists to do a tribute to A BIG-HAIRED OVER-THE-TOP DRAMA QUEEN DIVA ...isn't Beyonce the obvious choice??? She's totally a modern-day Diana. That's an error I will never forgive. I actually didn't like the Chaka-Stevie, etc. tribute. IT was a bunch of noise to me. And we've seen them do tributes before ...so same ole, same ole. Forgettable. I tuned out. (much like I did with the LeVert tribute) (oh -- and Alicia's speech for Diana was great). 4. Kelly is not solo material. She can't command the stage and can't sing powerfully enough. And if Beyonce's schtick is shaking her azz, Kelly needs her own signature. I DO NOT WANT TO SEE KELLY SHAKE HER ASS! Will not buy album. Why was Solange on a stage? Where was Jay? 5. Somebody found Ashanti! She looked pretty. I miss her bubbly personality. 6. Tocarra is 2 seconds away from becoming a stripper. Everytime I see her is is looking more and more .... hoish. 7. Beyonce's peformance of Get Me Bodied was fun but underwhelming. 8. Glad NOBODY responded to 50. HA HA!!! 9. Robin Thicke should have stayed behind the piano. He was corny as hell trying to dance. Now, I know black women lovvvve them some Robin, but if he does that again, he's going to lose half his fan base. Sit down Robin, please! This is not American Bandstand. 10. I see Neyo and Beyonce were steadily giving each other props. Too funny. Beyonce thanked Neyo for writing Irreplaceable. Bout time, but we already heard her taking credit a million times in concert "Ladies! I wrote this for my ..." Lastly, good to see Chuck D. Could have done without Flava Flav, but I know he's their albatross, so I accept it. Fun show.

I love how Miss Diana Ross OWNED 50 Cent tonight.
50 was then only performer acting a damn ass up on stage. He first came on stage cursing, I heard a 3 F-Bombs and some other four letter words, (they were bleeped out of course). I also read on another site he went in the crowd, not to hype up the audience, but was looking for someone he was gonna slap. He then started spinning some chick around upside sdown and then promoted vitamin water as he was leaving. The crown wasn't into his show at all. PRINCE: Always and Forever

The tribute to Gerald made me really sad.
1.Gerald was SOUL. He wasn't one of these dudes who tried to be hip hop. Gerald stayed true to himself and that's a rarity in this business 2.You don't see closeness in the R&B community these days. You saw the love that Gerald had with Patti. That doesn't happen these days. 3.Ne-Yo didn't even ATTEMPT to lipsynch! WTF 4.What in the hell did Beyonce have on in the beginning of her performance?! and most of all, Tocarra can definitely get it with the quickness "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

all i know is....the tributes always make this show enjoyable....sad thing is most of the tributes are performed by old school with a newbie thrown in and the newbies are ones who generally get no airplay (india, erkayh, etc)
It seems Stevie and Yolanda are just a part of the BET Tribute band LOVE IT.... This made me sooooo hype to see Erykah later in July AND she should play Diana if they ever did a movie about her Big ups to Diana for giving a shout out to Mary Wilson. They are too old to still have beef. Loved it that Berry Gordy was there but that is his baby's mama
