Spice Girls Reunite This should generate some funny stories in the next few months and the clash of egos Apparently next week they're going to announce they're reforming.
Some of their songs were catchy but considering most of their fan base are now women in their late teens to early 20's I doubt any tour is going to exactly fill Wembley.

I heard on the local news in London that now Mel C has agreed, they're all on board. Plus before she agreed they had to wait till Mel B had her baby. I know more about this than is healthy

They're all broke...I mean, the reason why Geri left was because Mel B dumped her.

I dont really know why they would do this outside of the sheer novelty of it, it would do way better overseas than here, but with girl groups like SUGABABES and GIRLS ALOUD (who've shattered every record set by girl groups in the UK) it doesnt seem to be a point to it, especially with all the egos NOW. Simon Fuller stands to make a ton of cash. He can promote them on AI. I've been waiting for the Spice Girls to get together since they broke up after Forever! Hell I've been waiting for Live IN Instabul to be released on DVD. There is a market here waiting for the Girls. Say what u want about the Spice Girls: Sure, not all of them were especially talented. In fact, probably the only great singers were Mel C and Mel B, ironically. Emma was too soft, Geri was mediocre, and Victoria just sucked. But, you can't say they weren't fun. Also, what was ironic is that even though they were pop stars, they acted and looked the part of rock stars, moreso than alot of actual rock stars. They were a fun guilty pleasure in the industry. So yea, I think a reunion would work. Hell, there is a market for it. Dont know if I'd go to a reunion show if they tour, but I have a feeling they'd attract alot of older women and gays.
Besides, what have they got to lose? None of there solo careers took off especially. Geri's started promising in the UK but fizzled out quickly, and Mel C has had some success in the US and UK as far as dance music go (remember I Turn To You, anyone?), but she never actually became a big star. The rest tried it as well but flopped. I know Victoria probably has no problem with money since she's with David Beckham and has since become famous for being famous, but what about the rest??

Yes, the way their solo careers have all tanked, I would think they'd be humbled a bit and that egos shouldn't be a problem. One reunion show in the U.K. is a good idea. A full tour, maybe not. spelling [Edited 6/22/07 15:48pm]

Yea, she's had the worst prospects of a solo career, but she really doesnt need it, what with her marriage to David Beckham, which pretty much gave her financial security(if u wanna call it that) and a lifestyle that successful celebrities would have. And with the $250 million that her husband is getting played to play in the US, as well as the fact that she now hangs out with people like Tom Cruise and J.Lo, she really wouldnt need a comeback show. To her, it's probably something to do other than shop all day. The rest, on the other hand, havent been so lucky, especially Mel B. So yea, I can imagine how humbled those are. But Victoria humbled? HIGHLY doubt it.

They all need it. Emma B's solo career was a damp squib (as was Geri's and Mel B's) and Mel C knows that her solo career is going the same way as the others. Those four need the money...Posh doesn't but what is she known as now? Mrs. Beckham. Her ego likes the idea of this.
It really is all about the money. As I said earlier, there was a lot of bad blood between Geri and Mel B. The two of them were seeing each other whilst in the group but Mel B. wanted to end it. They had a huge falling out which led to Geri leaving the group. All that stuff about Mel C. being the one blocking them reforming is bullshit. It has been about Geri and Mel B. Time must be a good healer...but not as good as a fat pay cheque...

Time must be a good healer...but not as good as a fat pay cheque... Yea I gotta agree with Emma's solo career. What a bomb that was. I think the one that lucked out the most career wise was Mel C, which isnt saying much cause the only impact she's really had in the US was hitting the dance charts with a remix of "I Turn To You". Dont know how shes done in the UK, but probably not much better I assume. Geri's looked promising but it went to shit and she became a total d lister, and Mel B's career has also flopped hard, as well as these times being hard for her.And I guess I do agree with Victoria needing it also..must be tiresome being known as Mrs.Beckham as well as spending the day shopping in Bel-Air. Yea, ideally it's a great lifestyle that people dream of, but the only way she achieved it was by fucking a famous soccer player. It's not like she earned it. So this must be her chance to prove herself(though she does have the least talent of all of them)

Also, I didn't know that Mel B and Geri had been in a r'ship together. To be honest I always thought that was the tabloids looking for a juicy angle to the girl group format. Those jornalists can really let their imaginations run! DNA Test Shows Murphy Is Dad Of Spice Girl's Baby (Friday, June 22, 2007 - Reuters) LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A DNA test has confirmed actor-comedian Eddie Murphy is the father of the newborn daughter of Spice Girl singer Melanie Brown, People magazine reported on Friday, citing Brown's representative. Brown, 32, gave birth to Angel Iris Murphy Brown in April and listed Murphy as the father on the child's birth certificate, but the star of movies like "Beverly Hills Cop" and "Dreamgirls" has never publicly acknowledged paternity. Earlier this month, media outlets reported that Murphy, 46, had taken a DNA test and Brown's representative, Liza Anderson, told People the results, confirming Murphy's paternity, were given to Brown on Thursday. Murphy's spokesman declined to comment. Brown, who dated Murphy last summer, was "Scary Spice" in the 1990s all-girl British pop group that scored hit songs such as "Wannabe." Members of the group have scheduled a news conference for Thursday, sparking speculation that they will reunite for a tour and album. http://blackvibes.com/fea...newsid=501

I used to really like them because of their catchy stuff and their image though I know they're not really talented. I was devestated that I couldn't get tickets back in the day, so I would definitely go for the show for old times sake to relive the 90's. I hope ginger becomes a redhead again
