Now THAT is a good choice. It's so silly you can forget about singers you so often play it is second nature. [Edited 6/26/07 12:40pm] Has anyone see that movie out now about her?

Embattled Warrior: Well I DO believe that Tori's work has been stronger...
You can quote SIREN all you like... it's genius... I can always start quoting some of Kate's work... "There Goes A Tenner..." Wow. Breathtaking lyrics there... Or how about "Don't Push Your Foot On The Heartbreak."?? Let's face it, Kate's had some gems over the years. Having said that, I admire and respect them both. I just feel Tori Amos's back catalogue is stronger. ... [Edited 6/28/07 2:07am] [Edited 6/28/07 2:10am]

One thing all Kate fans conveniently seem to neglect when debating the whole Kate vs. Tori comparison is whose the more talented musician.... Now I wonder why that is?
Just look at the true genius at work...

Three cheers to Mr MattyJam.
Tori is one amazing pianist. Wasn't she studying piano at the age of two and a half or something like that? She was something of a childhood prodigy... Whereas Kate.. didn't her family used to lock her in the garden shed when she was fifteen because they thought she played terribly? [Edited 6/28/07 2:21am]

These battles usually end with me temporarily hating Tori. There was a site a while back showing all of the Tori/Kate comparisons. I think that person had a true vendetta against Tori. looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

Just look at the true genius at work... I've always liked that pic., but Kate is great musician too. Kate chooses to focus on the visual artistic aspect along with the musical. looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

She's pretty but I wouldn't say she's the "best female artist ever." At one point I thought she was sexy how she played the paino and I wanted to hit that. Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

[Edited 6/28/07 2:21am] Kate's early demos around that age aren't half bad.....and bringing this up, you may as well bring Tori's "Baltimore" into the mix. Kate's piano playing is nice..... http://www.youtube.com/wa...8DGjEzATIw http://www.youtube.com/wa...-iZcak0ysY I give Tori the edge when it comes to that, but only because Kate is so many things. More of a Jack of all trades than Tori. looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

I would've even put a new song like "Dragon" ahead of "Siren". I just don't think it's one of Tori's strongest....really good, but genius? hmmm. Funny you brought up those two songs of Kate's to go up against Tori's "genius" song.....unless you really feel those are two of Kate's strongest songs. Then it's understandable.....but I'm sure almost any fan won't cite those two you just mentioned as two of Kate's best. "There Goes a Tenner".....not a high favorite of mine, but it's part of an album Kate done by the age of 22/23 while flying solo. I'm sorry, but not too many people that age in the industry today can pull off The Dreaming without some help. I know the Dreaming is one of those weird albums that you either love or hate, but I personally love it and think it's one of her bests. looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

Joni Mitchell is so infifnitely superior to Tori Amos that you'd need the highest-tech computer to properly quantify it. the music knows what your motives are when you are making it

Siren(amos) And you know you're Gonna lie to you In your own way Know know too well Know the chill Know she breaks My siren Never was one For a Prissy girl Coquette Call in for An ambulence Reach high Doesn't Mean she's holy Just means She's got a cellular Handy Almost Brave Almost Pregnant Almost in love "vanilla" And you know you're Gonna lie to you in your own way Nocturn (Bush) Sweet dreams… On this Midsummer night Everyone is sleeping We go driving into the moonlight Could be in a dream Our clothes are on the beach These prints of our feet Lead right up to the sea No one, no one is here No one, no one is here We stand in the Atlantic We become panoramic We tire of the city We tire of it all We long for just that something more Could be in a dream Our clothes are on the beach These prints of our feet Lead right up to the sea No one, no one is here No one, no one is here We stand in the Atlantic We become panoramic The stars are caught in our hair The stars are on our fingers A veil of diamond dust Just reach up and touch it The sky's above our heads The sea's around our legs In milky, silky water We swim further and further We dive down… We dive down A diamond night, a diamond sea and a diamond sky… We dive deeper and deeper We dive deeper and deeper Could be we are here Could be in a dream It came up on the horizon Rising and rising In a sea of honey, a sky of honey A sea of honey, a sky of honey Look at the light, all the time it's a changing Look at the light, climbing up the aerial Bright, white coming alive jumping off the aerial All the time it's a changing, like now… All the time it's a changing, like then again… All the time it's a changing And all the dreamers are waking. If that incoherent, meaningless lyric at the top is one of Tori's best, then it just goes to show how easy it is to con people if you get the attitude right. And yes, the Kate lyric you quoted is masterful. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

A friend of mine is working with the Werchter Music Festival in Brussels. A few days ago he mentioned they would be streaming portions of the festival on a live web stream. I didn't talk to him long enough to ask if every performer was included in the stream or just select artists but I'm pretty sure he mentioned Tori Amos as one of the live feeds.
I meant to say something sooner but you know how life is. Anyway, I don't know the website but I'm sure if you google Werchter Music Festival and Belgacom you'll find it.
