Yeah I love his version of The Star Spangled Banner-he sang it in a way that had never been heard before (or since for that matter). He changed it completely which was a good thing. For me though, it's a tie between Marvin and Whitney for the best rendition ever. They both did an incredible job. "And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ
"Baby, that was much too fast"...Goodnight dear sweet Prince. I'll love you always

Whitney's version is good! I'll give her the credit that's do. She nailed it! However... Marvin? Marvin took it a level that CAN'T be fucked with!! I can and have listened to his version...over and over and over again!!

I was a pre-teen when he did it. My family members and I were like this when he got emotional at the end. That is a pure classic, along with Hendrix's version. My author page: https://www.amazon.com/au...eretttruth

I must be the only person in the world who does not like this version at all. My mother thinks it's the best thing she has ever heard in her life. I think her judgement was clouded by her desire to mount Marvin Gaye
