Hopefully it will stay, and also considering that McCartney wasnt in all stores, many stores did not stock the Limited cd and had low stock and late stock of the regular version, this would be great. Not that Paul needs to prove anything i just think this will prove how "marketing" by labels dont mean shit! Rihanna was harping this record on ever tv show/late show/video show there was as was Tpain all over BET, and if Paul beat them WITH NONE of that, just a real kick in the ass to the labels who still dont GET IT!!

I would have bought Paul's album last week, but I couldn't find the deluxe edition ANYWHERE! mad It looks like I'll have to order it online, and add to next week's sales.

FLASH POINTS

• T-Pain flies in at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 with his sophomore set, "Epiphany," moving 171,000. It's easily the artist's best sales week ever -- his debut effort, "Rapper Ternt Sanga," started with 47,000 (his previous sales high) at No. 40 in December 2005. It eventually peaked at No. 33 in March 2006. The new album is powered by his "Buy U a Drank (Shawty Snappin')," which reached No. 1 on The Billboard Hot 100 last month. T-Pain beats out Rihanna, who checks in at No. 2 with "Good Girl Gone Bad," selling 162,000. It's the singer's third album in less than two years. Her first, "Music of the Sun," debuted and peaked at No. 10 on Sept. 17, 2005. She followed it up with "A Girl Like Me," which started and peaked at No. 5 on May 13, 2006. With each album, she starts higher and with bigger numbers. "Music" began with 68,000, and "A Girl Like Me" bowed with 115,000 ... The inescapable "Umbrella," the lead single from "Good Girl Gone Bad," reached No. 1 on The Billboard Hot 100 two weeks ago.

• After a much hyped record deal with Starbucks' Hear Music label, Paul McCartney arrives at No. 3 with "Memory Almost Full," selling 161,000. Since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking data in 1991, McCartney has only scored two other larger opening weeks -- when 2001's "Wingspan: Hits and History" started with 221,000 and when 2002's "Back in the U.S. Live 2002" began with 224,000. Therefore, the bow of "Memory" is his best debut sales week for a studio set in the SoundScan era. Credit the hyper-caffeinated sales to the power of Starbucks. It doesn't hurt when your CD is stocked in every one of the coffee giant's stores ... Last week's No. 1, R. Kelly's "Double Up," drops to No. 4 with 121,000 (a 69% decline). Maroon5's "It Won't Be Soon Before Long" drops 35% in its third week, falling to No. 5 with 112,000.

• Big & Rich celebrate their second No. 1 on Top Country Albums, as "Between Raising Hell and Amazing Grace" starts with 103,000. It climbs in at No. 6 on The Billboard 200. Their last album, 2005's "Comin' to Your City," started at No. 3 on the Country list and at No. 7 with 157,000. The duo's debut, 2004's "Horse of a Different Color," climbed to No. 1 on Top Country Albums in September of that year. It peaked at No. 6 on The Billboard 200 ... Marilyn Manson returns to The Billboard 200 with "Eat Me, Drink Me" at No. 8, shifting 88,000. It's the act's ninth charting album and the follow-up to the band's last studio set, "The Golden Age of Grotesque," which debuted at No. 1 in 2003 with 118,000. In 2004, the greatest-hits package "Lest We Forget" peaked at No. 9 ... Daddy Yankee notches his first top 10 album on The Billboard 200 as "El Cartel: The Big Boss" bows at No. 9 with 82,000. It also starts at No. 1 on Top Latin Albums -- his third chart-topper on that tally.

• Other high debuts within the top 40 include The Police at No. 11. The band returns to The Billboard 200 for the first time since 2002, as its new self-titled greatest-hits package debuts with 58,000. It's the fifth retrospective from the band to hit The Billboard 200. It follows "Every Breath You Take - The Singles" (No. 7 in 1986), "Message in a Box: The Complete Recordings" (No. 79 in 1993), "The Very Best of Sting & the Police" (No. 100 in 1997) and the similarly titled "The Very Best of ... Sting & the Police" (No. 46 in 2002). Chris Cornell takes his second solo set, "Carry On," to No. 17 in its debut week with 37,000. Dream Theater hits a new peak on The Billboard 200, as "Systematic Chaos" starts at No. 19. The debut of 36,000 is the best sales week for the act since 1994, when "Awake" slightly surpassed that number in its first week. The act's last album, 2005's "Octavarium," debuted and peaked at No. 36, selling 27,000. Bruce Springsteen's "Live in Dublin" bows at No. 23 with 31,000. The two-disc set is his fourth live collection to chart in the past 10 years. Carl Thomas' "So Much Better" debuts at No. 25 with 28, the latest Vans Warped tour compilation starts at No. 31 with 22,000 and Poison's covers set "Poison'd!" slithers in at No. 32 with 21,000.

MARKET WATCH

• Album units, current chart week: 8.75 million units
• UP 5.3% from last issue's charts: 8.31 million units
• DOWN 8.3% from same week, 2006: 9.54 million units
• This week: The top six albums sell more than 100,000 copies.
• This week last year on The Billboard 200: AFI's "Decemberunderground" bowed at No. 1 with 182,000. Rappers Yung Joc and Ice Cube started at Nos. 3 and 4 with 148,000 and 144,000, respectively. The soundtrack to "Cars" was the fourth and final debut in the top 10, racing out of the gate with 68,000. The top four albums each sold more than 100,000 units.

BORDERLINES

• The No. 20 album this week, Fergie's "The Dutchess" (will.i.am/A&M/Octone/IGA), sold 35,000.
• The No. 20 album for the same week of 2006 Angels & Airwaves' "We Don't Need to Whisper," (Suretone/Geffen/Interscope), sold 34,000.
• Average total of the No. 20 album for the same week of the year during the past 10 years (1998-2007): 47,824.

PROGRESS REPORTS

• Justin Timberlake is the first artist in the 14-year history of the Nielsen BDS CHR/Top 40 chart to score four No. 1 hits from an album as "Summer Love" jumps 3-1. The song follows fellow "FutureSex/LoveSounds" cuts "SexyBack," "My Love" and "What Goes Around ... Comes Around" to the top ... Timberlake is also the first male lead artist with four straight No. 1s and the second overall after Alanis Morissette, who hit with four consecutive tracks (three from "Jagged Little Pill" in 1996 and "Uninvited" from the "City of Angels" soundtrack in 1998) ... "Summer" is Timberlake's fifth career chart-topper (not counting his 'N Sync hits), a total that moves him past Nelly for most by a male artist. The sum ties Avril Lavigne for most No. 1s this decade one week after Lavigne set the mark with "Girlfriend," which dips to No. 2. Timberlake and Lavigne trail format leader Mariah Carey, who has had six No. 1s.

• With the largest audience impressions increase inside the top 10 on Hot Country Songs, Tracy Lawrence's "Find Out Who Your Friends Are" leaps 4-1 on the Country chart. The Rocky Comfort/CO5 track is his eighth No. 1 and first since "Time Marches On" led for three weeks in June 1996. The 11-year lapse between Lawrence's most recent No. 1s is the longest for any artist since Kenny Rogers closed a 13-year period between chart toppers when "Buy Me a Rose" ruled for one week in May 2000 ... Lawrence's single replaces Emerson Drive's "Moments" (Midas/New Revolution) at No. 1, where it's the first time that an independently distributed label has replaced another indie since June 1950, when Moon Mullican's "I'll Sail My Ship Alone" (King) took over the top spot from Hank Williams' "Why Don't You Love Me" (MGM).

• Linkin Park's "What I've Done" retains the No. 1 spot on the Alternative/Modern Rock chart for a 10th week in a row and is the group's second track to hold the pole position for a double-digit stay. Of the band's six other chart-toppers, only "Numb," which spent 12 weeks at No. 1 between November 2003 and January 2004, logged more time at No. 1. "What I've Done" is the first track to accumulate 10 weeks atop the Alternative/Modern Rock chart since Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Dani California" hit the 10-week mark one year ago this week on its way to a 14-week stay at the top ... The feat "What I've Done" achieved moves Linkin Park into second place as the act with the most cumulative weeks atop the chart, with 45. Green Day is in third, with 44, while the Peppers are first, with 81.

It also should be pointed out that EVEN starbucks locations didnt stock the limited cd, they stocked the regular one, i checked 5 different ones and no one had it, and never had it.

Fabolous, DJ Khaled, Traveling Wilburys, Queens of Stone Age Also Debuting

June 13, 2007

The Big Dog Daddy will rule the charts next week.
According to one-day sales reports from our crack team of retailers around this great country of ours, Toby Keith’s new album on his own Showdog Nashville/UMGD label will debut at #1 with between 170-180k.

Rapper Fabolous’ Def Jam/IDJ album From Nothin’ to Somethin’ is up next with a projected total of 140-150k, which is more than enough to give it a #2 bow.

New Orleans-born Arab-American hip-hop icon DJ Khaled’s second Koch album, We the Best, featuring such cohorts as T-Pain, Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, Juelz Santana, Rick Ross, Fat Joe and Trick Daddy, will be in the 80-90k range, a seeming lock for Top 5.

The deluxe Rhino/WB CD/DVD The Traveling Wilburys Collection looks to be in the 55-65k area, as will Interscope desert rockers Queens of the Stone Age’s Era Vulgaris, which just received four stars in a lead Rolling Stone review.

Legendary father-son R&B team Gerald and Eddie Levert release their first Atlantic album, Something To Talk About, since the tragic death of son Gerald last November from acute intoxication at the age of 40, with an estimated 40-45k in first-week sales

Latin pop music heartthrob Enrique Iglesias’ Insomniac, his first Interscope album since 2003’s 7, appears headed for 40k, give or take, in first-week sales.

Nashville pop-punk band Paramore, fronted by fiery redhead vocalist Hayley Williams, anticipate between 35-40k in sales for their Fueled by Ramen/Atlantic album, Riot!, with Hot Topic retail sales also a factor.

Rap bad boy DMX’s Ruff Ryders/Def Jam greatest hits album, The Definition of X: The Pick of the Litter, is in the 30k area.

Also at 30k is WB’s Yoko Ono-approved charity album, Instant Karma: The Amnesty International Campaign to Save Darfur, which includes a variety of artists covering John Lennon songs, including Green Day’s version of “Working Class Hero,” U2, R.E.M., Christina Aguilera, Jakob Dylan, Avril Lavigne, Corinne Bailey Rae, Jackson Browne, Big & Rich, Los Lonely Boys, Lenny Kravitz, Aerosmith and Youssou N’Dour.

Paul's new album was at my local Starbucks this morning. cool
