Initially, Bootsy and Catfish left James Brown to work with Clinton, but Catfish played primarily in Bootsy's Rubberband, not PFunk. Maceo and Fred Wesley followed later ( and returned to JB at different time onlt to leave again). There were still 18 - 20 other PFunk mob members who hadn't done diddly for James Brown
