Actually, that's another part of the problem that musical styles can't change. Older artists can't get any airplay when they release something new and funky so they resort to making money any way they can such as allowing these no talent shit hoppers to sample their music.

All these older artists need to start sueing these little no talent thugs into the fires of hell and when they finally have to start coming up with their own music (something they aren't capable of) styles will change for the better and older artists might have a chance at music again.

They are not funk albums, so how can they be classic funk albums?

That's like asking if a ham sandwich is a classic pork chop. They may have something in common but are not the same.

They are definately classic hip-hop albums, though. But you are asking for trouble by referring to them as funk.

if there is bass and drums doing funky thangs its funk.....dr dre is the funkiest mofo alive....ask george clinton

you are joking, right?

All the early dre stuff is straight loops plus dre didn;t even produce it all. On DR it was a collaborative effort with Dre getting all the credit

Even a pop band like ABBA have a lot more sense to quickly sue ANY hip-hop/rap producer that has sample their work (especially if Bjorn & Benny NEVER wanted gangsta rappers to sample ABBA at all). I agree with this idea! And I wish funk bands star doing the same. biggrin

See there, people had forgotten that part of the story!

Take 2...

IMO, a true Funkateer does not borrow/rent/buy/steal FUNK from someone else.
Nor accept pre-fabricated (aka sample) FUNK from a blood relative.

*Thou must layeth down ones own original FUNK from thine own hand.

...*That's either the 7th or 8th FUNK Commandment. wink

Precisely TA. Funk is never borrowed because its a feeling. And for a person to make a accusation about borrowing the Funk then, they must be Faking the Funk them self and remember what Sir Funk De Nose said about those who fake the Funk, your nose will grow.

Furthermore, if one know their Funk history, they would realize that Cameo was discovered by Dr Funkenstein himself and headlined for P-Funk in the 70's.
