I have to wholeheartedly disagree with you. Beyonce can sing. I don't see how you can say she cannot sing. The Aretha's Glady's and Jennifer Holidays are phenomenal singers and its hard to compare anyone to them. But all in all, Beyonce has a great voice. I personally just think her voice is wasted on songs like Check On It and most of the songs on her B-Day album. Janet, Rihanna, Ciara, Britney, those are the ones who can't sing. I never said Beyonce could not sing, just like I never said she wasn't pretty. I even acknowledged she could hold a tune. I just think she is terribly overrated vocally, as well as in looks ( however I will admit her body is crazy). Beyonce is placed on such a high pedestal and it annoys me as well as confuses me. While I would not place her in a Janet, Ciara, Britney category, IMO there is nothing special about her voice to warrant the pedestal she is placed on. While not "freak of nature" incredible singers, certain vocalist such as Minnie Riperton, Chaka Khan, Angela Winbush, Deniece Williams, and CoCo of SWV had something special and ALL had the ability to make my mouth drop open. And the annoying thing is Beyonce will more than likely supplant those women and be placed in a "great" category. That annoys me. Really not trying to change the subject and turn this into a versus type situation, but when I hear Jennifer Hudson, it sounds like that girl was born with it. When I hear Beyonce, it sounds like it was taught to her. However we know Beyonce will get the biggest props. I think a lot of the animosity toward beyonce too stems from the fallout
between her dad and 2 of the original members of the group latoya luckett and letavia roberson. A lot of fans felt the girls were uneccessarily dumped from the group for no reason and were a part of the group before daddy knowles came on board as manager. Also people feel that his goal all along was to make beyonce a star even at the expense of the other members. It seemed that kelly rowland was the only original member that was cool with the way daddy knowles did business and was and is always willing to be second bannana to daddy knowles little precious beyonce.
