look at what u said...it proves my point...notice you didnt say how hot prince was....he was cold as corpse at a mortician's convention until beyonce brought him back

so the 20th anniversary of Purple Rain, the Rock-n-Roll hall of fame and the ever extended Musicology tour, which was promoted as the last of the hits tour had NOTHING to do with it, it was all because of Beyonce????

I would agree that the performance may have looked cool to the younger ones but to say that performance revamped his career sounds retarded to me.

I agree with that, I got into a fight with a beyonce fan over this

I agree, but I'm not sure if I can forgive her Wyclef Jean as a guest rapper on "Hips don't lie" and this damn awful "Beautiful Liar" crap.

There is NO female artist out right now who can even come close to Beyonce. Finally, someone admits that Beyonce revived Prince's career. When she appeared with him on the Grammy's, it did wonders for him. He was finally "cool" again. You can bet that if he has just appeared by himself, it would never have made the news that it did. Basically, he used her to connect to the mainstream audience that he has been seeking in recent years. Prince fans hate her for appearing with him; however, they should be glad because it is because of her that the public and the media began to take notice of him. Sorry, but it had nothing to do with "Musicology". The media basically ignores Prince's music when it is released. Let's just face facts, the Beyonce factor helped Prince's career. He knows it and his fans should be mature enough to admit it.

Bullshit.Prince has always been an amazing live performer. He didn't need Beyonce to prove that.If he had gotten up there onstage without her,the performance would have been just as electrifying and everyone STILL would have been raving about it the next day.You give Beyonce waaaayyyyy too much credit rolleyes

He didn't have no guest stars onstage with him at the Super Bowl, did he? I don't think too many people turned the channel,in fact it was one of the highest rated Super Bowl performances ever. But I suppose you're gonna give Beyonce the credit for that, too?

I certainly hope they would turn the channel because I don't want them getting into Prince because, if they do, Prince might weaken his music to appeal to their weak taste. If a young person that likes funk gets into Prince, I'm fine with that. However, these shit hop fans aren't even worthy of being in the same room with Prince.

That performance with Beyonce was a damn embarassment to Prince and fans of his music.

This is how I feel. I don't care if he has a mass appeal and I don't care if kids are missing out. But I actually know quite a few people under 30 who love Prince and tuned into the Grammys to see him and only him and were horrified to see Beyonce.

There's no double standard. Reasons why I dislike Beyonce?

1.She's EVERYWHERE. I can't turn on the tv, pick up a magazine, or go to a record store without having to encounter her or her "music." There's a difference between promotion and being shoved down everyone's throat, and B is certainly the latter. Yeah she's hot, but like a chick you see way too much of when you don't want to, that hotness fades.

2.Wack music. "Crazy In Love" was a good track, but it was ripped off from Amerie's "One Thing." Since then she has released shit like "Irreplaceable" and "Check up On It" easily some of the worst shit I've heard in a long time (especially "Check Up On It, fuck, that sounds like shit I was singing in music class in 3rd grade!) Yes, she can sing, and once in awhile has a decent track, but overall, her music sucks.

3.She and Daddy Knowles have done some underhanded things to other singers. Case in point, when they heard "One Thing" by Amerie, they decided they just HAD to get whoever produced that track to do a similar track with them, but not only that, they had Sony DELAY THE RELEASE of Amerie's album so that Beyonce could drop hers first.

The thing that annoys me the most about Beyonce' is the fact so many people think she is a great singer. I know it's all about opinion but Aretha, Patti, Gladys, Roberta, Whitney, and Jennifer Holiday are/were great singers. Can Beyonce' hold a tune, yes, but IMO, she is no more of a vocalist than Tamar. In fact I think Tamar has a stronger voice technically. Straight up seriously, I don't think Beyonce' could survive American Idol, yet she is placed on this high pedestal. IMO, she oversings to cover up. Let's face it,Beyonce got to be where she is because of the way she looks, which is another area I think she is terribly overrated ( but then again, I think Halle Berry is overrated as well. I just think she pretty. I don't get the whole most beautiful woman in the world thing with her). People thinking Beyonce is a great talent just confounds me, and it annoys me she will be in the history books.
I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin.

You're another one, huh? I thought I was alone in this one. I am young, "Black", and I think I know what I want in a woman. Well, then again! lol The thing about that though is that everyone does overrate "Halle Berry" and "Beyonce". I think that "Halle" has the better personality of the two, but overall, I have still seen better women elsewhere. The color doesn't matter to me, either.

Interesting viewpoint. Personally, I don't know what league I'd place Beyonce in as far as technical vocal talent goes, but that melisma sure drives me nuts: "I can have ANOTHA' YOU IN A MINUTE!!.. matter fact, HE'LL BE HERE IN A MINUTE!!!..." headache

If that's how you feel. Like I said, she's very attractive. One of the few ladies up to this point in her life that could still go out in public without make-up and still look attractive, but otherwise, she doesn't really peak my interests.

yeah she's hot. and I'm a fan of hers but i have to admit that if Beyonce is what is keeping the music industry "afloat" then that's pretty sad. Beyonce's sophomore effort with B-Day tanked and she's banking on sex appeal. Have the mainstream industry have nothing else to offer? perhaps i'm just too ole skool and out of wack with the times and today's music.

I have to wholeheartedly disagree with you. Beyonce can sing. I don't see how you can say she cannot sing. The Aretha's Glady's and Jennifer Holidays are phenomenal singers and its hard to compare anyone to them. But all in all, Beyonce has a great voice. I personally just think her voice is wasted on songs like Check On It and most of the songs on her B-Day album.

Janet, Rihanna, Ciara, Britney, those are the ones who can't sing.

She deserves respect. Her albums do not do her justice i think everybody will hear that one day.
She can wear what she wants she is stunning. If people question this they are only jealous.

Shit hop has dominated R&B since the early 1990s. That's more than 15 years. I grew up with styles changing every five years or so (if they even lasted that long).

I'm used to moving on, and since funk's death, I have gotten into other things such as rock, blues, and even a little touch of jazz that I didn't even have the time of day for when funk was in style. Today's listeners are the ones that have been stuck in a time warp for the last 15 years. It's not their fault though, they were born into the bullshit and don't know anything better. It's not the shit hop artists' fault either. They are just doing what their pimps (the record labels) want them to do....which is making the cheapest music possible. Shit hop artists may call women "bitches" but the artists that make shit hop are the ones that are "ho's".
