I love Bjork as a person.

She's great and funny! I like the fact that she mentions the egg thing, which was excellent and people didn't seem to notice. Brilliant!

One thing nobody mentions is that I had six eggs with me and I distributed them around the red carpet. And all the lifeguards for the stars were like "Sorry ma'am, you dropped this." It was hilarious. smile

it looked like she had an egg-shaped clutch purse kinda thing, and i bet the "eggs" she dropped were like nesting dolls, so they'd be easy to carry and drop.

why did i even spend time speculating a theory on this? lol

actually, bjork is classically trained in composition and can write/perform songs on organ.

i don't think she has the virtuosity for musical instruments that prince has, but i don't think prince can handle the same level of complexity that bjork can as a composer. it's a trade-off, really.

Ya can't be serious? As far as rock-pop composing is concerned Prince ranks up there with Brian Wilson, Frank Zappa and Stevie Wonder. I have listened to Bjork's material through and through and it's brilliant on the most part but no where does it reach the composing majesty of "The Ballad Of Dorothy Parker" and so on. This is the guy who is often compared to Mozart or Duke Ellington, would do you think that is?

Don't get me wrong, Bjork is one of the most talented artists ever but to say Prince can't handle the complexity of her compositions is bonkers. razz

Here's to self depreciation! highfive

A 50/50 (and I stress, 50/50!) collabo between Prince and Bjork would be sweeeet.

lol Bjork seems like a no BS type so she'll probably stuff him her swan dress and release him in waters of lake minnetonka.

I can't see Prince making something like Vespretine, but then again, I can't see Bjork making something like Lovesexy. They handle music differently.

For some reason I think that if they appoached a collabo from their common ground in jazz and classical, they would come up with something much more mind-blowing and satisfying than if they tried to outdo each other with the technology and beatmaster status.

Something midway between "Power Fantastic" and "Aeroplane" would be really delicious.

i see prince as a master of happy accidents and bjork as being very deliberate about every random squeak that ends up in one of her songs...you're right, they do handle music differently, and i guess it's not so much how they get there as much as the quality of the end product. i feel like prince has gotten impatient with adding a lot of detail and texture to his studio recordings anymore, whereas bjork keeps getting more and more out-there with all the stuff she crams into her work.

i feel like bjork did to timbaland what prince did to all his collaborators on RAVE...mixed that sucker WAY down and sprayed it with her own scent. lol

which, you know, is fine...it's HER album...but yeah, i think there'd be a little bit of disagreement in the studio between her and prince. giggle

Yeah from what I've read, Post and Volta are the most improvisational she's ever been in her collaborations and with studio equipment.

Because Prince used to be a mad scientist up at all hours of the day, I feel like he used to just rock a drum machine beat, fuck it up, go out for coffee, come back, see what it sounded like and hit record. There's a lot of freedom as a one man band and having your own studio. It shows in most of his old work.

At least she didn't end up with "Undisputed". lol

If they ever worked together, that's why I'd rather they did something very minimalist or acoustic like "Sweet Sweet Intuition" or "God" or something.
