Ooof, how frustrating. I'm expecting the coming week to be extremely hectic, so I don't believe that I'll have the time to put anything together until next weekend.

I'm bookmarking this thread. I've got my Saturday night plans finalized now.

12. Prince - 3121 ( 2006 )

I'm a little surprised to see this ranking as your top Prince album. Perhaps I'm mistaking comments someone else made with your own, but I was under the impression that you didn't think that highly of 3121. I must be mistaken - you're nothing if not consistent...

28. P. J. Harvey - Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea ( 2000 )

I'm a little surprised to see this as well. I thought you would have her pegged as being too 'dreary '90s alt-rock' for your tastes.

37. Vive le Fête - Nuit Blanche ( 2003 )

I've had this on my 'to investigate' list for ages...I need to order it one of these days.

That wouldn't be me. I love 3121 to bits.

I like a few "dreary '90s alt-rock" acts in spite of myself. PJ Harvey and Liz Phair totally kick my ass (well, until Liz totally turned into Sheryl Crow, but that's another story). Stories is simply a beautiful rock album.

You'll probably hate them, but they appeal to my guiltiest of pleasures. Octave bass and synths all the way!

Here are a few videos (not all of them are their own videos, but these were the only way I could find the songs):

Nuit Blanche

Touche Pas

Mon Dieu Great bass line!

Jaloux My favorite!

Yup, I quite like it. I know it gets hated on a lot, but I love the melodic approach.

confused I own like NONE of those rock albums, although I have heard a bit of all of them through friends with admirable taste.

Oh well, my list would look a little different.

It's weird deciding what goes on the list. For instance, when I think of definitive albums of the decade I would think of Eminem - Marshall Mathers LP from 2000.

Yet I got rid of my copy because I was so sick of him.
