LiSa MaRiE PrEsLeY Any fans of the young Miss Presley out there?
I bought her first album a couple of years back, "To Whom It May Concern." It's a great album, really heartelt, sometimes quite dark in places. Had it for ages... put it on for the first time in months yesterday and forgot how brilliant it was... And now I see her new album is available in the UK at last... Can't wait to buy it. Heard the leaks on her web site before - great tunes.

I actually checked out some of her songs that were streaming on her website awhile ago (too tight to buy Miles! ), and found her voice ok-ish - Not that strong, but something vaguely Presley-ish, and yet sultry in there too.
One song leapt out at me, mainly for Lisa's own lyrics, was 'Light's Out', from the 'To Whom It May Concern' album - The chorus is as follows - 'Someone turned the lights out there in Memphis. That's where my family's buried and gone. Last time I was there I noticed a space left. Next to them there in Memphis. In the damn back lawn.' Too cold, but the truth gotta be told. The music is ok, if a little generic Sheryl Crow or somesuch. And, I suppose, even tho she's lived most of her life as a spoilt heiress, she's got plenty of life experience material to inspire her lyrics. Girl's just gotta stop getting married tho. She just married for the fourth time, I think. She should know by now, Presley's don't do marriage imo. And she's brave to follow Elvis into the same business, even tho she ain't trying (and never could by sounds of her) to be like him. I just wish she had some better, more interesting music backing her lyrics.

Haven't listened to her much, but she seems alright.
I can't get over how much she looks like her father. It's gotta be hard enough, with shoes those big to fill. But when you're the spitting image of the man as well? "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

I was really surprised at how strong her first record was and it got A LOT of play on my stereo when it came out.
I haven't got to her second disc, possibly because she was underwhelming with the live stuff I've seen of her (flat and a little self conscious). A covers album of her dads stuff might be wierd/interesting

I remember mj fans hating on her so much and laughing when she fell onstage during Good Morning America, but she doesn't seem as bad as they're making her out to be. Plus I always thought she was gorgeous

I like Lisa. Although I was quite shocked to read her first interviews. I never got to hear her voice till like 5 or 6 years after her divorce with MJ (they never aired Prime time over here, so I got to see it several years later). I basically knew nothing about her. When she was married to him, she looked like a lady so I always had this lady-like-image of her and I was shocked when she gave her first interview to Rolling Stone. They´re like black and white, her and Mike. Even though, I can´t say I always liked what she said about him, but I somehow understand where she´s coming from, so I have no problem with her. Shame they got divorced. I always thought they were great together. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. Actually.. if you hit the pause button just right, you can see Michael Jackson's penis in that video...

I don´t know. I am always watching something else. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. Lisa = no kids. Debbie = kids. Problem solved. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

Second that. I really like both her albums, however find the lyrics far more compelling than much of the music. I'd like to edit about 30 seconds of plodding guitars out of half the songs. Eileen

I really like her version of Don Henley's 'Dirty Laundry'. I got the first album but didn't bother with the second.
This live performance with Billy Idol is absolutely horrendous though: http://www.youtube.com/wa...kEPyqaz1H8

But I think she knows that. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. I think Lisa Marie DOES have a good voice, but she doesn't necessarily have a powerful voice... she sounds good live, but she doesn't know how to project enough or something... [Edited 5/30/07 2:05am]

Shame they got divorced. I always thought they were great together. I agree that MJ and LM did look great together. In fact, I've never seen Michael OR Lisa Marie look as happy than when they were together. They positively GLOWED. I will never forget when Diane Sawyer(nosey bitch) asked them if they had sex and Lisa basically screamed, "Yes,YES, YES". She was smiling ear to ear and Michael gave her that sexy look. During one interview, LM said that Michael was VERY romantic. She also told Howard Stern that Michael was the one who initiated their first sexual enounter before they married. She told Howard that she would never marry anyone who didn't sexually satisyfy her. There goes that media "myth" about them not having sex. It's sad that she started listening to the media and her mama and decided not to have children with Michael; especially, when she proclaimed loud and clear that she and MJ were "ready to start a family together". Seriously, I think songs like "Break of Dawn", "Don't Walk Away","You Are My Life", etc. and many others are about Lisa Marie. I don't think that Michael is over her, yet. Even Debbie acknowledged that MJ was not over LM when she and Michael got married. Debbie agreed to have Michael's children because LM changed her mind. Debbie always knew that Michael was still in love with Lisa. All you have to do is to remember the photos of Lisa Marie following Michael all over the world during his HIStory Tour, in the hopes that she could get him back. Every single photo or her with him, she is smiling from ear-to-ear. Do you ever see her smiling like that with any of her ex-husbands, present husband, boyfrieds, etc? Michael and Lisa Marie were a beautiful couple; however, she allowed others to think for her and lost the "Love of Her Life"-Michael. [Edited 5/31/07 5:17am]
