But she's got the same problem that Madonna has. They do both have acting talent, but it's something about their voices when they're speaking the lines that makes them sound like they're reading off cue cards, even if everything else about the scene is fine.

yeah, its called "lack of acting skills".

I think they can both convey the emotions that they need to just fine, through body language and facial expression. They just have sort of flat, dry, monotone voices that don't bring the dialogue to life.
