"Let Down Your Guard" should have been on the 'Bedtime Stories' album, along with "Your Honesty".The one track that should have been removed is the filler track "Don't Stop".

Couldn't agree less. Madonna's b-sides have always sucked. "Your Honesty" has a weak chorus and terrible lyrics. "Let Down Your Guard" has potential with the beat and the intro but once her vocals go all Paula Abdul, it's a mess.

"Supernatural" sucked? I don't think so! Strong pop song.

That one came to mind when I said that. Yeah, you're right about that one, but the rest of her b sides have been serious let downs

"Has to Be"
"Gone Gone Gone"
etc

although I did like the duet she did with Joe Henry
I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

You gotta be kidding lol "Your Honesty" could have been a Number One hit in 1994.That song is hot! "Let Down Your Guard" is raw and sexy. Both of these songs should have been on the album.

"Has to Be" is one of her best, IMO!

Why spend huge amounts of money on videos that MTV don't even play? It's a different time now as opposed to the days of Express Yourself.

I agree.Music videos are obsolete these days.I'm not saying she should stop making them, but there's really no need to "go all out" with them, anymore. Why spend a million dollars on a video that won't even get shown that much?

Well im not saying she should spend a fortune necessarily, just be more prepared to back up a decent artistic vision / concept with the necessary funds. She makes cheap vids now because Warners are of the same view (why spend money on something MTV wont air), and so clearly advance her no money - but my point was simply that when Madonna had a certain vision of her videos, she was willing to put her own money behind it. Now we just end up with cheap vids like Love Profusion, Jump, Get Together.

You may ask what is the point, but surely the point is to bring a new creative aspect to a song - not just commerce. To create something visually that enhances a songs power. Im not saying she needs big money to make her videos, just a little more care of attention.

I like the "Hung Up" and "Sorry" videos. These videos perfectly captured the feel/vibe of the album.Honestly,I think these videos are as good as it's gonna get. She's already done some of the most shocking, most provocative videos of all time,lol...there really isn't too much more she could do lol These days,I'm not really concerned with videos, though.I'll watch it if she makes one but if she doesn't,that's okay too.In the 80s,videos were an EVENT,but those days are over.

"Mer girl" [is] her worst songs evr!!!

yeah, it's not like it's her most emotionally revealing,
honest and soulbaring song.

and it's not like she finally works with abstracts in a
lyric and makes them work.

it's not like the music is original and haunting or the
spine tingling vocals were recorded in one single take.

and it's certainly not amongst her top 3 most worthy or
'real' moments on record.

so yeah, it's her worst song evrrrrr!!!!!

rolleyes

I definitely think it should've made Ray of Light.
