Sly & the Family Stone numbers 11 through 30 I will have up on tomorrow ... Not bad. Under my criteria, I see Sam Cooke and Jackie as the "same" so for both to be in the top 10. I wouldn't have them both, and maybe even Otis Redding as well. 1 or the other. Also, I'd replace Sly with P but you knew that already. Make Afros not War | |

Jackie and Sam were not the same, they both had the same great voice but thats just about it. Jackie's performance's and shows were on a whole 'nother level. He also performed in a lot more of the 'chitlin circuit' venues the Sam. Sam was deeply rooted in gospel more then 'Mr. Excitement' Also their audiences were, while being the same were also very different. Otis was more 'soulful' hen both. PRINCE: Always and Forever

King -Bobby Blue Bland -Big Joe Turner -Little Milton ect. I'm having a tough choice if these guys should be in the top 100 or not. They road on that fine line between southern R&B and Blues. Similar to Bobby Womack, Johnny Taylor and the likes but they were more down home Soul. And then you have folks like Gil Scott-Heron and Nina Simone who make it even tougher on whats R&B.
