Ashford & Simpson

I'm going to see soul legends Ashford and Simpson on Saturday. Am I in for a good gig? Anyone seen them recently?

thumbs up! that's my favorite from them as well.

I would love to see them perform that too. I know they did a 20-somethin minute video medley of songs off the "Street Opera" album, I wonder if they ever performed somethin like that live...

I hope you have a good time. I haven't seen them in person, but I have seen them on television several times. They seem to concentrate on what they did for other people and not their stuff. "It Seems To Hang On" and "Is It Still Good To Ya" are probably their best songs. "Solid" and others are also good.

oooh,I wish I could see them too!!!!
There's this awsome live LP called "Performance",
and it's so cool to hear them do their own versions
of hits they wrote for Marvin Gaye/Tammi Terrell,Diana Ross & Chaka Khan.

I love the 80's, it's my favourite musical decade of all time, but solid made me laugh more than enjoy it. Maybe they're just bad actors, but they definitely have musical talent and I appreciate their work for other artists

NEver saw them live but I'm jealous. I wonder if they just do the hits they recorded or they do maybe work some of their famous compositions into the mix like as a medley. Just for hits like "Solid" and "Found A Cure" among others it would be a great show.

Well i've been to see them and it was one of the most euphoric gigs i've been to, ever..
I missing some out and the order's probably wrong, but they definitely played THESE:

Is it Still Good to ya
Found A Cure
The Boss (amazing version of this)
I'm Every Woman
Reach out and Touch (somebody's hand)
Ain't no Mountain High Enough
Let's Go Get Stoned
Solid
Top of the Stairs
You're all I need to Get by

They hadn't played live for some time, but u'd never guess it from the performance, which was tight as a gnat's chuff. And as u might expect they hammed it up a treat between songs, telling jokes, and anecdotes, including when they first met Berry Gordy, etc.

If u get the chance, go and see 'em
