They might be giants - Flood.

Back in 1990 a song called Bird house in your soul was big in the charts and I liked it so I got the album and bog did it stink...

Amyone else got this album? I will never get rid of it, it reminds me to hear more than one song be4 I buy any album.

I GOT Y'ALL BEAT:

ANOTHER GAG GIFT:: PAT BOONE: IN A METAL MOOD

It's a terrible terrible CD when Pat Boone hit his midlife crisis. He covers songs by Metallica, Guns n Roses, stuff like that. I never thought it was possible to so thoroughly butcher those songs. IT WAS BAD

Carmen Electra's was pretty bad, but I like the background instrumental work. Hate her rapping though.

I'm actually surprised it never became a hit, cuz it was so appropriate for its time, and the songs get stuck in your head.

Cheap Trick (can't remember which one, but the only one I bought)

and

Men at Work I liked the song "Who can it be now?" but the rest of the alubm I didn't care for.

oh and...

The last Cure album I thought they would have matured into better musicians by now. Sounded like a really muddied, dark production.

I may add the new Guns and Roses album (after seeing that performance on MTV) to this list when it comes out so we'll wait and see.

It's easier now because you can preview a lot of tunes on the net before buying it.

other artists you buy because, well, you have everything else they've done so you buy it anyway.

If you don't know, Sisqo was definitely worse.

My worst album purchase has to be Mariah Carey's Glitter (there, I admitted it) A very big disappointment.

Sisqo's 2nd album "Return Of The Dragon" had to be worse than "Unleash The Dragon"

My bad. I thought Foxy was talking about the 2nd album. That flop is probably the reason why Dru Hill is back together
working on a project now.

Either way, no project from Sisqo holds a candle to SOTT.

D'angelo's Voodoo, Chicago- 21, and Mariah Carey's Rainbow CD come to mind. I'm sure there are many more atrocities I paid money for, but I try to put them out of my mind.

I do in fact own all 6 NKOTB albums. The weird thing is that the only "good" one is that last one that flopped. The self titled debut and the Christmas album are DIRE in every way.

I'm still deciding whether or not to get that budget priced Latoya Jackson CD I keep seeing around. Maybe that could claim the new title.

How fair to compair D'angelo on the basis of two albums to 20 plus albums by Prince. Who says he's supposed to be able to compete with Prince? Critics and the music press?

OK, then compare them to Prince's first two albums, Prince still wins.

Dunno what the worst one was. I'll have to think about that.

But I bought the new Eminem the week it came out with high hopes. I was really disappointed with it.

Listened to it once.

Couldn't stand it.

Never played it again.

"BloodFlowers" is a classic. It's much better than "Wild Mood Swings" and stands among their best work!

It always amazes me when threads like this get going and we see the differnet opinions and tastes. I can't see how anyone could think Voodoo sucked? It's totally beyond me?? I found this cd to be so innovated and interesting. The sounds and styles are like nothing else out there. This cd is great (IMO). I listen to it regularly. On another thread, someone else commented on how great Christina Aguillera's new cd is. I wouldn't give this shit the time of day. She is crap and so are all the other artist like her (IMO). Back to the subject, the worst cd I ever bought was probably the bay city rollers. I know this shows my age, but thankfully my musical interests have expanded and dramatically changed since then. I guess there is nothing wrong with liking pop music, but there is so much more out there that much more interesting than the Christina's, Britney's and Shakira's of the world. Expand your musical tastes and rid yourself of the pop crap that swarms around us everyday of our lives.

Ihope this types out correctly because I think I'm in your response. But anyway I totally agree with you.

The worst CD I ever bought was Usher's CD 8701. What was I thinking?

I agree with kisscamille's diatribe about modern pop music. But it doesn't take away the fact that Voodoo was a boring, sleep-inducing, piece of crap (other than Untitled, Africa, and Spanish Joint).

Ok I'm embarrassed to post this, but the worst album i bought was a tribute to Madonna... It had a bunch of industrial artists doing Madonna tunes and seeing how I used to be hardcore Industrial chick (Skinny Puppy, Front Line Assembly, Front 242, KMFDM, Razed in Black, etc...) I thought it would be cool. I was WRONG! barf

Oh, no! I don't know if you're familiar with their early music, but if you want anything more representative of Chicago you have to buy an album from their earlier days, late 60s thru 70s - but prior to 1978.

If you want something representative of Chicago you have to listen to their original lineup. They were much more inventive, hard rocking and jazz influenced with Terry Kath in the band before he died in 1978.

Their first 3 albums were double albums. And there are 6 that were recently remastered/reissued:

Chicago Transit Authority
Chicago II
Chicago III
Carnegie Hall, Vols. 1-4 (Chicago IV)
Chicago V
Chicago VI

Then there's the new double cd greatest hits:
The Very Best Of Chicago: Only The Beginning

Anything you buy by them with guitarist Terry Kath is better than their 80s-90s music.
This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.
