It would be hard to associate some of the Orgers I would list with only one artist.
(which is what makes them interesting)

Here are just a few off the top with associations they would understand...

PFunkjazz - King's X
...more as they come to me.

well, appreciating a band and being a fan are two different things. back on that thread, i didn't know what i know now about the boundaries of your musical tastes.

these days my response would probably be more like "absolutely, funkenstein. keep on funkin'." comfort

Actually, you might be surprised to hear that I do own a Bowie album, a greatest hits collection of his, a couple of Kate Bush albums and an Adam & The Ants album! smile

Yes, admittedly I'm not the most versatile guy when it comes to music, but I can respect artist that I don't personally like, if I can see that they are clearly talented, doin' something new or influental etc etc. There's just something about Radiohead that rubs me the wrong way... Heck, it might be bad memories of a presentation a couple of friends of mine did back in the eighth grade. They had a boring 20 min bit about Radiohead and showed us the Paranoid Android music video. Ever since then, I've hated Radiohead. I also hate Nirvana because they are one of the most overrated bands ever.

i still dig goth, though maybe i have a little less patience for what i call "amish goth" than i used to. i like stuff that can stand alone as good music as well as be part of a certain genre i like. otherwise i feel like i'm collecting manga or something, which, you know, there's nothing wrong with that, but i like things to be a little less claustrophobic, you know?

did anyone understand what i just wrote? i need to quit reading bjork interviews. lol

Understood ~ well ~ if you could just define "amish goth" for me.

Sounds very insular to me. shrug

My reply when FuNkeNsteiN bashes a song--most recently on the Nightwish thread--is something along the lines like, "How can you not find them funky?" I don't think there's a band less funky than Nightwish. lol

Ironically i don't own that barkays cd. I believe it was some of their stax stuff before holy ghost and son of shaft. I will have to give it a listen again. I chose the avatar because it was reminiscent of the funky threads the band often wore during the 70's and 80's. Sometimes i'm like damn i wish i could wear some of those threads now. lol You are right though i am a huge barkays fan as i have everything from the barkays money talks on up to 48 hours.
