I don't talk about goth here that much. I just never think that anyone else would be interested. i still dig goth, though maybe i have a little less patience for what i call "amish goth" than i used to. i like stuff that can stand alone as good music as well as be part of a certain genre i like. otherwise i feel like i'm collecting manga or something, which, you know, there's nothing wrong with that, but i like things to be a little less claustrophobic, you know? did anyone understand what i just wrote? i need to quit reading bjork interviews. | |

I agree that with most of them from the 90s on, if you're not part of the club, you won't get it. yeah, kinda. i don't mind if a band doesn't have "crossover appeal", but i do like what they do to stand on its own merits, rather than being dependent on a particular "scene" for the music to have any kind of context. the whole "not part of the club/you won't get it" deal is what annoys me, like most of the punk scene annoyed me when i was younger and how most of the indie scene annoys me now. | |
