yeah, kinda. i don't mind if a band doesn't have "crossover appeal", but i do like what they do to stand on its own merits, rather than being dependent on a particular "scene" for the music to have any kind of context. the whole "not part of the club/you won't get it" deal is what annoys me, like most of the punk scene annoyed me when i was younger and how most of the indie scene annoys me now.

When they played "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" during the line segment of "Soul Train" a few months ago, I had people calling me on the phone saying they thought about me when they heard that shit.
