I did, so I have to give you that one as well. I didn't quite develop the same infatuation with the Pipettes that I had with Free Me. That might still happen once I get fully into summer mode.

Emma's album goes nicely with Sarah Cracknell's solo album 'Lipslide', but Emma's is definitely more Bacharach-ish.

i still dig goth, though maybe i have a little less patience for what i call "amish goth" than i used to. i like stuff that can stand alone as good music as well as be part of a certain genre i like. otherwise i feel like i'm collecting manga or something, which, you know, there's nothing wrong with that, but i like things to be a little less claustrophobic, you know?

did anyone understand what i just wrote? i need to quit reading bjork interviews. lol

It's hard to find a goth band these days that has crossover appeal. I agree that with most of them from the 90s on, if you're not part of the club, you won't get it.

yeah, kinda. i don't mind if a band doesn't have "crossover appeal", but i do like what they do to stand on its own merits, rather than being dependent on a particular "scene" for the music to have any kind of context. the whole "not part of the club/you won't get it" deal is what annoys me, like most of the punk scene annoyed me when i was younger and how most of the indie scene annoys me now.

I forgot about you. When I think of you, I don't think of any artist in particular. I think of all those great "You're the DJ at a party for _____, what would you play?" threads.

I also forgot about Voices Carry. When I think of him, I always think of Shitney Houston. He's my "Shit on Shitney Houston" partner in crime. lol

It would be hard to associate some of the Orgers I would list with only one artist.
(which is what makes them interesting)

Here are just a few off the top with associations they would understand...

paligap - Japanese crossover / Lewis Taylor
Anxiety - Alice Coltrane
I Ain't The One - The Rascals ("Young" and old)
RipHer2Shreds - Dionne Warwick
damosuzuki - Moby Grape (I hope i'm remembering this right)
NDRU - Robben Ford
Slave2daGroove - Lettuce
VoicesCarry - The Jaynetts
vainandy - The Controllers/Bobby Rush
blackguitaristz - Marcus
MIGUELGOMEZ - Little Jimmy Scott
Stax - Holdsworth/Pasqua Project (gotta get that DVD)
PFunkjazz - King's X
cubic61052 - Tribal Disorder cool
Moonsongs - Any artist from my era
SoulAlive - EW&F/Santana (Almost any artist from the 70s)
NuPwr319 - Avishai Cohen
anon - Shobha Gurtu

...more as they come to me.
