I prefer Zeppelin, but it's just taste. I don't think one's necessarily better than the other. My Legacy

Led Zeppelin by far.
But I love Queen as well | |

Queen as individuals, maybe bonham on drums, but Mercury and May are techinally superior to Page and Plant. That said, Zeppelin have far better albums.

I agree, to me Queen is more of a singles band for the most part, whereas Zeppelin is definitely an "albums band", if that makes any sense.

Zeppelin
I don't own any QUEEN I loved "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "We Will Rock You" and "We Are The Champions" but I love way more LZ songs because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

Queen.
Zep ripped off everyone from Willie Dixon to the Jeff Beck Group to Jimi. "The first time I saw the cover of Dirty Mind in the early 80s I thought, 'Is this some drag queen ripping on Freddie Prinze?'" - Some guy on The Gear Page

It's far to difficult to choose between these two amazing bands. Both are great. I still listen to music from both of these bands on a regular basis. They are very different from each other, but both are amazing in their own rite.
As far as Zep ripping off other artists. Give me a fucking break. Everyone has ripped off something from someone.

I'd say Zeppelin and Queen were two very different animals. Zep influenced Queen and many others, but Queen were always 'poppier' (no shame in that), and were chasing hit singles.
Zeppelin, while arguably more derivative, especially early on, were very definitely an albums band, while Queen were normally more 'commercial', but retaining a strong signature sound. Also, while Queen were good/ very good musicians, they can't really compete with Page, Bonham and Jones, the first two are among the best in rock music history, with Bonham imo being the best rock drummer ever. But then, imo Freddie Mercury was a far better singer than Robert Plant, who is effective but, shall we say, limited . But then, Queen are the only band (even over the Beatles) to have top ten UK hits written by all four members. One thing both bands have in common is that in the early - mid-70s they both smuggled in elements of 'Prog Rock' into their albums, without getting hammered with the 'prog' stigma (Zeppelin with the likes of 'No Quarter' and others, but always with their unique sound and Queen with the imo tedious 'Prophet's Song' among others from 'A Night at the Opera'). Early Queen sound at times like Yes gone metal. As an aside, I still get shivers (not in a good way) when I remember watching Plant, performing with the Queen survivors, attempting Queen's late classic 'Innuendo' at the Mercury AIDS benefit concert in 1992. Plant seemed either or both out-of-it and under-rehearsed. A shame, as 'Innuendo' was a good choice for him, as it's a little like 'Kashmir' in its epicness. Possibly, Zep's 'highs' were higher than Queen's, and Queen's 'lows' were lower than Zeps, but I love them both for what they are.

Definitely Led Zeppelin!

I'm a huge fan of both. Queen is outstanding, but Led Zeppelin's reach seems to go further and they simply blow me away. I mean I just DISAPPEAR when I hear their music, it's an altered state of consciousness. It's hard for me to choose because they are both among my all time faves, but I say ZEPPELIN.
