LOL, all these guys turned down the Jackson 5ive. The Jackson 5 came into contact with alot of great artist before they found their way onto Motown Records. All the artist below either declined to take the J5 on the road as their openning act and/or to sign them to their record label.
BERRY GORDY CURTIS MAYFIELD (Curtis all ready was producing/writing for a kid group, the Five Stairsteps on his record label.) SAM AND DAVE (Declined to take them on the road, but did get them a spot on the Apollo.) JOE SIMON JERRY BUTLER JAMES BROWN (James was lookin' on backstage as young Mike was doin' his best JB imitation. Joe and the boys met with him backstage to try to hook up with Brown. Brown declined. He then said this is how you do the 'real' James Brown and went on stage) PRINCE: Always and Forever

James loved Michael. There was alot of respect and love in that friendship..... "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. I love this picture! It totally reminds me of how much James impacted Michael, and since Michael is my music-hero, this picture always brings a smile to my face. R.I.P. James - you are totally missed. | |
