Sometimes an artist has to come out of pocket for what they want. You really seem to be trying your damnedest to blame Beyoncé for more than what she has control over. Within the scope of her career, she can make certain decisions; others, she has no say-so in. For instance, she could pay to have 10 videos made but getting them all played in rotation on all of the major video channels can only be done by Sony or one of the major corps. That takes connections, not just money. As I stated in an earlier post, every superstar is actually a team of people making a joint effort to make one individual look all-encompassing. Some things are just out of her control, though. | |

The point is, most artists are figureheads for a team of people and they take the blame when team members fuck up. Weave out of place? Hairstylist's fault. Who gets the blame? The celeb. Overexposed? Business managers fault. Its NEVER one person and ALWAYS a team of people making a star a star. If she messes up on stage, its her fault; blame her then. Otherwise, you're probably pointing the finger at the wrong person. While I don't agree with everything you said, this is perhaps the most level-headed view of the cult of hate for that Beyonce chick...The bottom line is it's just become fashionable to hate this girl...People don't even hate her for valid reasons anymore (I'm with you with this "overexposed" business...news flash people: That's what the entertainment biz is all about...It's simply a weak argument...)... Personally, I find her father Matthew Knowles to be the person that I would like to throw overboard on a nice long cruise... But as far as Beyonce is concerned, she seems to be a good, not great vocalist (she certainly has talent..), who is a confident performer...She lives in an age where just about everyone can be deemed as overrated...But she's certainly no Britney Spears...Beyonce is going to be around for years people...I guess you should all deal with it...lol [Edited 5/25/07 11:37am] | |

Actually, it is pretty wrong of me to talk bad of her because Prince is the one that needs his ass beat for even being in the same room with someone like her, let alone on the same stage. I really can't blame her though. She's just shit hop trash so naturally she would want to have the privelege of being in the same presence as someone like Prince. on the contrary I think her first album sucks and I was disappointed cause I looooved destiny's child and she was my favourite member, but she improved a lot with the second album so I can call myself a fan of hers after all. it is unfortuneate that beyonce is caught up in what is happening to solo female artists at her age and during this decade. many had management that took them for granted and the singer couldn't do anything about it but wait it out. beyonce had parents who knew the game and were able to help her. when her cd originally came out her dad was mad that she went off and did it without telling him. when it leaked out on the net and copies were distributed he made her go back and record more tracks and re-issue the lp. so that stalled everything as far as how things were to go down like with her tour, the videos and everything. she had to wait to start the concert and then try to sell clothes pay everyone and hell I think she is catching hell at that age while trying to tour. the timing was off because her dad played a roll in it. I agree with murf about telling dad to chill. now she is touring during a time when the record has been out a while. so keeping videos out had to be the thing to keep her out there so the tour could get going. but hell what happened to all the other mid twenty female singers? she is holding this era together by herself and shoot it isn't her fault that all the others weree able to get the same help. she has the help. If she did try to help some they would probably turn her down thinking she is showing pitty when she may just be understanding and want to contribute I can't lie I would love to see the other mid twenties (fantasia, ashanti, mya, alisha keys, shakira's christina aguleras, etc) be able to come back out and get the female singing thing back on track. plus ladies start getting older and decide they don't want to do the industry thing anymore. you never know what pressure beyonce is under or anyone.I think stuff went wrong somewhere and she is trying to stay afloat.
my only complaint about her is COULD SHE PLEASE STOP WEARING THE SKIMPY CLOTHES AND LOOK YOUNGER. wear some denim jeans or do the look in the soldier video and some cute heals instead of the las vegas look. I don't know if that is vanessa williams sometimes or her. and get rid of the superficial high heals. (although she makes dancing in them look easy) and I do agree she has been a bit over exposed. I don't know how she can present herself in the videos and then be called to sing at award shows. but she has a great show! I say keep doing what you are doing while you have the energy to do it. many mid twenties from way back when lived like this. it is the norm we just don't have enough ladies in the industry to make that noticable nowadays peace and love and this is my opinion [Edited 6/8/07 8:59am] nipsy | |

When has Beyonce acted as if she was better than other people? Some of the reasons that people give for hating Beyonce are just childish. It rings of a "mob" mentalit-Hate on Beyonce because everyone else is doing it.The bottom line is that she is one of the best all-around entertainers-male or female-out there. She has worked non-stop and deserves everything that she has earned.I am hoping that she has many more years of success. I don't think she is that pretty... and after losing weight.. her face looks weird... she looks tired, sleepy, depressed, sad, and it looks like she has small shadows underneath her eyes.. and her smile is so fake looking... her chin is more defined.. and looks terrible on her long face... I mean... with all that make-up, weave, and expensive cloths... she comes out looking decent... but I personally would NOT want to look like her... im not impress with her looks any more... and anyone can achieve that look that she has... just cake make-up on your face, buy expensive weaves and cloths and her voice is AVERAGE... i hear girls everyday at school sing like beyonce.. as good as her...
