"The Girl Is Mine" is awful.

I love "Love Song".

i like "enough is enough" redface

and "state of shock" makes me giggle. it's when mick's enunciation was getting REALLY weird (think "undercover of the night", WTF was in his mouth!?) and i'd always end up in giggle fits when he'd come on the radio. boxed

I love their vocals and the bridge. Overall the song is okay. The video is fabulous.

I like "Love Song" also, but it did fail to meet expectations if the expectations were a huge #1 single.

I agree the bridge is good. The chorus is a bit of a letdown.

In terms of recent superstar collabos, Beautiful Liar was pretty damn lame.

Chart-wise, the lofty expectations were met. I honestly can't say that I expected the song to be great.

Yes, the track hit #3 (on the strength of digital downloads), but people were expecting a huge #1, especially following Irreplaceable.

The song flopped at radio, too. I think it only reached #16 on CHR/Pop.

Kind of like how Kelly Clarkson's new track is a hit due to downloads, but is absolutely floptastic at radio.

I never understand people who hate on Love Song. Just the two voices together is fucking phenomenal. Plus I like that the song isn't some simple pop ditty. P and M should do a whole album together: moody, obtuse, eclectic, hook-less, raw...that'd be the shit.

EWF and The Emotions "Boogie Wonderland" is great
Badu and Common "Love of My Life" is awesome
Michael and Janet "Scream" is fantastic, I love the chorus
Brandy and Monica "The Boy is Mine" CLASSIC
Eurythmics and Aretha Franklin "Sisters" is money
Salt n Pepa and En Vogue "Whatta Man" is great
Q Tip and Violator "Vivrant Thing" amazing
I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

No way! I love that song, I agree with the rest of your list though and I agree with VoicesCarry about "Beautiful Liar". That song is so mediocre it's not even funny. If it wasn't for the video, the song would not have gone anywhere.
"And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ heart

"Baby, that was much too fast"...Goodnight dear sweet Prince. I'll love you always heart

The Mariah/Whitney duet is a snoozefest bored I remember all the pre-release hype that surrounded it.They were treating it like it was the BIGGEST,most anticipated duet of all time.Everybody thought it was a surefire Number One pop smash. That sappy, predictable crap ballad went nowhere lol I think it put most listeners to sleep. What a wasted opportunity!

I'm a huge fan of Donna but I don't like this song. It's just corny to me,and I don't think their voices blend well together.Maybe Donna should have recorded it with Diana Ross instead?

I recall alot of critics hating it as well.I saw a 1979 "Worst of" list in my newspaper and the critic wrote "Enough is enough!" lol

this song is unintentionally funny.I always laugh at the emptiness of it.The lyrics are totally generic, like something written by a 3rd grader:

you got me on my knees
but please,baby,please
I know you like to tease
but please,baby,please
you take it to me good
like you know you should
I love the way you walk
talk,baby,talk

disbelief at the height of his popularity, this is the BEST that MJ could come up with?! I do like Mick Jagger's funny little ad libs throughout, lol.
