Sure it is. But most of the previous threads were about women that were FFT. Maybe the men are a lot closer to the stats than what's being reported.

FFT is FFT, regardless of what bits are involved. giggle

From my experience in the black gay clubs in the early 1990s before shit hop had completely taken over, there were several trade men (closet bisexual men who actually think they are straight in their own mind) who looked like, walked like, and acted with the same criminal "thug" mentality as these rappers.

In those days, you could tell a straight man from a piece of trade. Straight men usually dressed, looked, and acted like just everyday normal men.....no baggy ass jeans, no baseball caps, no thug gestures, etc. Trade was dressing like thugs back then. Most of them had been introduced to the bisexual lifestyle from prison and continued it on after they were released. They would come to the gay clubs to either fuck or get their dick sucked by a gay man....on the nights they couldn't get lucky with a woman earlier in the evening at the straight clubs. They see it as "an orgasm is an orgasm, whether it's a man or a woman doing the sucking". They think because they prefer women, that they are straight. They justify their thinking they are straight by saying that as long as they aren't the ones doing the sucking, they are straight. That's a bunch of bullshit and I believe in calling a spade a spade...to their face.

When shit hop took over, it got harder and harder to distinguish between a straight man and a piece of trade simply by their looks because lots of straight men started dressing and acting like thugs. However, if you think about how many of these rappers have been to jail and have that criminal mentality, more than likely they have had some type of sexual experience with another man....they just won't admit it. As for them saying "I hate fags", well, that's true, they really do hate gay people. However, they will fuck or get their dick sucked by one. They just won't admit it. When trade I have been with has tried to justify their straightness with me, I just ask them...."If you're so straight, why don't you brag with your male buddies about how many men you have been with? You brag about the women." They keep the men a secret.

Your assertions are interesting and on point. I am a straight woman, but I love real House music, so I am often at parties here in Chicago where the crowd is made up of majority gay black men, especially when the DJ is someone like Frankie Knuckles who is openly gay. I've always made it a practice not to date anyone I meet at a club, but especially not at a House music party, because it's hard to tell who is straight/gay/bi at those parties.

Over the years it has become harder to distinguish between the straight guys and the gay ones, because of all the frontin' that goes on now. Some of them dress and act "thugged out," but then I seem them dancing together and groping/kissing each other once the party gets going. It's weird because some of the men will tell me how pretty they think I am or come dance with me right after dancing with other men. It's not uncommon to see two "rough necks" dancing with each other, then flipping the script outside the party and acting straight. I agree that the rap persona has had a lot to do with this transition in behavior among black gay men.

What you are seeing are butch queens and not all of them are closeted outside of gay clubs. If those guys were trade, they would never be seen anywhere, including a gay club, dancing with a guy or hugged up with one.....especially in the presence of a woman. If you, as a straight woman were in that club, or even if you were a gay woman (they don't care), they would be trying to get with you (since women is what they prefer). If they didn't get lucky with a woman, then they would get with a man....but only in secret. Trade never lets their guard down. They want people to think they are straight....even their gay partners. In their mind, they actually believe they are straight.

If they have any female mannerisms whatsoever, they aren't trade. "Down low" has become the new word for trade but the media still does not portray a true portrait of what trade really is. The media always finds some closeted queen and throws a "down low" title on them.

With shit hop being the dominating music and fashion, it's not uncommon to see butch queens or even feminine queens dressing thuggish. You can't tell what their tee is until they open their mouth and talk.

Real trade has no female mannerisms whatsoever. Women never think their man would fool with another man because he is so hard and thuggish. I've seen a lot of women get AIDS from their men over the years for being such a damn fool.

The best way to describe trade is, just imagine if you were in prison. Now, imagine the toughest guy in the prison trying to rape you. That guy would have no feminine mannerisms whatsoever. He would be a hardcore thugged out criminal and the reason he would be trying to rape you is because he has no exposure to a woman whatsover. Well, trade doesn't exist only in prisons. When they get out of prison, they continue their sexual escapades with men when they don't get a woman. They like to live the best of both worlds but will only admit to one world.

So a man that acts "too macho" has more secrets to hide than a man that acts "less macho"? hmmm

Most of the time. Most straight men don't act that butch 24/7 because they don't have anything to prove. They are a straight man and that's that. Trade is usually overly butch. They are way more masculine than straight men. Trade also have many women. An easy way to spot trade is to find the man who has the most women. A lot of straight men may cheat on thier woman with another woman or two but trade is constantly looking for different women to sleep with. To them, an orgasm is an orgasm and it doesn't matter if it's a woman or a man giving it. I wouldn't be surprised if some of them let a dog lick their dick. lol

Funny you say that - years ago, when I first started hanging out in NYC, I wound up walking over there on the pier, trying to find my way around. I was surprised to see all these hard-looking refugees from body-building camp, all hugged up and coupled up on the benches. They were totally thugged-out - I had never seen anything like that before.

It was definitely a shock eek

This thread is taking me back to that hip hop special that was on not to long ago and discussed here in which Michael Eric Dyson was one of the critics...

Yet homophobia, homoeroticism and hypermasculinity often go hand in hand. In hip-hop, for instance, images of thugged out, hypermasculine men of color—posing shirtless, greased up, muscular—decorate magazine and album covers. While these images might not have been created as explicitly homoerotic, hypermasculinity in hip-hop, sports and fraternity cultures serve to bond men together, often at the expense of women, gays and men who do not meet strict gender-based roles and expectations.
