I think i was listening to them through an inferior stereo, completely messed up impression of their sound.

And I added 1977 since I like that one a lot. [Edited 5/25/07 10:00am]

I was actually thinking of running a thread contest for albums of the year for various years. Then again, I never finished the Pazz 'n Jop for '06. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

Do you still have the lists that were submitted to you? If it's a question of not having the time, I'd happily volunteer to do the collating once I've written my exam.

It's just that I was waiting for a revision to one that needed to be corrected and never got it. After a while, I lost interest. I could still compile it, but I think it would be a joke at this point. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Just stick a 'somewhat belated' in the thread title.

Yes, very nice lists (for the most part). Glad to see so many Dylan fans. He's the master songwriter IMO. Even today, with his most recent release (modern times) his lyrics are untouchable. Sophisticated, meaningful, romantic and realistic and deeply touching.
