Is he still alive? What is up to?? Why doesnt he go back with them and tour? I got a new dvd of them and they had 2 awful lead singers. | |

Yes,JT Taylor is still alive  He left the band in 1987 and recorded a couple of solo albums.He reunited with Kool & The Gang in 1995 and they recorded an album 'State Of Affairs'.He left the band a few years later.I read a late-90s interview where he angrily blasted Kool and The Gang's management.He had issues with the way things were being handled.Unless those problems are addressed and dealt with,I don't think we're gonna see another JT/Kool and the Gang reunion 
I agree,Kool and the Gang currently has two awful lead singers  I wouldn't go them in concert these days unless they bring JT back. | |
