Songs from the west coast- Elton John
Rainbow Children-Prince
Glitter-Mariah Carey (most underrated record of hers ever!)

probably the first time Janet and Michael put out albums that I wouldn't include as a favorite from the year.

and I'm taking Prince and Elton John out of my list. as much as I liked them, and those 2 albums being something of a return to form, they just don't affect me the way the other 3 do.

There were some great albums that were released that year. From Aaliyah's self-titled album, the big "King of New York" battle wish created 2 classic rap albums from both Jay-Z and Nas, the return of a queen (in hip hop and soul) with Mary J's 'No More Drama', yet with another album released after his death even 2Pac's 'Until The End Of Time' was another reason why he's timeless, even a few great debuts didn't hurt as well with Alicia Keys and Bilal, and to the re-birth of his royal badness (of sort) with Prince's 'The Rainbow Children'. What more can you say about the year 2001? How about including Bilal's debut album as apart of that list of best albums from 2001? His album was great from great smooth jams like 'Soul Sista' to the Dr. Dre produced 'Fast Lane', it was great to why Neo Soul was so cool era in R-&-B music. Hey, Tweet had a nice one as well. What about her?
