It does have that dated sound to it, but in this case it`s a good thing 
King is a great singer, and her material, especially in the early years, is impressive. "Spirit of the dancer" is one of my favorites 
She has a good soulful voice, i love her more slow songs, like "I`m just warming up" from "Get loose"  | |

I remember seeing her in concert in the late 90s.She launched into one of her new songs and got a little annoyed that nobody knew what it was  "Yeah,I know....you never heard it before",she said,in a rolling-her-eyes type of way...lol | |

She released an album in Europe in the mid 90s, i think it`s called "I`ll keep a light on". I`ve never heard it... Yeah,I think that's the song she was singing or something else from that album.It had a very Eurodisco sound...totally unlike her earlier hits.
In the late 80s,she released one of her last good albums....'Flirt' from 1988.Contains a cool slow jam "Kisses Don't Lie" [Edited 5/15/07 6:18am] | |

I like this song. The album that its form ( GIrl Next Door) is pretty good, too. Its mainly a mid-tempo house affair produced by one of the Sylvers(cant remember if its Foster or Leon). She does a good version of "Footsteps in the Dark" on this one. Ive never seen the "Day to Day" video. Thaks for the post  A happy face, A Thumpin Bass, For A Lovin' Race. PEACE. | |

The album is okay, the full-length album version of "Day to day" is addictive... "Cross your mind" is also good. | |
