You guys are focused on DJ. I'm still trying to figure out what happened to 20YO. I didn't like the CD at all but it was supposed to be a 20 year celebration of Control, that could have been the theme of her tour. However, I get the feeling a lot of shit and drama went on behind the scenes and maybe her spirits just wasn't into the project anymore.

i'm just saying if she could have found it within herself to tour after the whole world declared her carear over and crossing the line for not one, not two, but three overtly sexual things in a row... SEX, Erotica, and Body of Evidence with TIME, Newsweek, Life, CNN, Niteline and many others constantly calling her to quit. Janet could have found a way to tour behind DJ.

Look, I returned to the org in a very positive place and am not about to get involved in Janet vs. Madonna fan wars again. Madonna is great, Janet is great, but they are two very different women and two very different artists and the constant necessity for my-diva's-cock-is-bigger-than-your-diva's-cock comparisons on the org is absolutely ridiculous and very tiresome. If it's a Janet thread, Janet should be the topic of discussion. Not whether or not Janet should have done this or that like Madonna.

wow, i think that was a bit of an overreaction. it wasn't a Janet vs. Madonna thread. it's YOU who just turned it into one. he was saying that Madonna had a similar set of circumstances and got out there and did her own thing anyway. he was using that as a template for Janet's situation. the Janet fan inferiority complex strikes again.

Me too. If they deferred from the plan of 20YO then they deferred but I wish someone would address what the f*ck happened. Moving on and not only NOT talking about it but NOT talking about your music in general is a slap to fans. What, did she think we wouldn't notice? Really. I ususally don't pay attention to pre-album hype but the info on 20YO seemed factual. The damned album implies it and yet where was it?

It's like telling me a movie is a thriller and when it's released it's a comedy but no one involved mentions it was marketed as thriller.

Stop talking about your old-ass piercings and how great you get it from JD (cringe) and tell me what the hell happened to your music. mad

rolleyes i hope he doesn't leave either. i like him and i like him being on this site. but if this is the kind of thing that would make someone leave, then they probably aren't fit for interaction with the public at large.

i'm sure that isn't the case with VC, because he's a great contributor.

I'm not leaving because Tessa/Aaron/TheAstonishing/a billion other aliases is still around lol I left for my own reasons last time.

My comment was merely an observation. Too many threads are lost due to fanbase clashes. And mentioning Madonna in every Janet and vice versa thread is pointless.

welcome back!

and as for 20 Y.O. I listened to it last week and it wasn't as horrible as I'd remember it being. It still wasn't good, but it didn't make me want to vomit anymore. The second half is definitely the better half. Too bad about those first several tracks and Call On Me, though.

Well Damita Jo had much more potential than 20 Y.O. 20 Y.O. is just a weak record aside from a few of the tracks. Damita Jo was still a great pop record and I could name at least 5 good tracks that would have been great singles. Of course due to the Superbowl controversy it was already too late by the time the record was released.

What if her next album isn't a hit either? She might as well go out on tour and strike success where it's guaranteed and establish herself as an accomplished stage performer. The longer she holds it off, the more people's interest wanes.

You make a valid point, but I think she wants to wait until things are right before launching a tour.If she tours now,she will be under tremendous pressure.Everyone will be treating it as a comeback attempt. It might be a good idea to do another album first.'20 Y/O' is a weak album to base a tour around.Imagine a tour next year based around a KICKASS album. It will be a better era for her,a better time to tour.
