Why does she deliberatly fail to recognize her newer albums. Seeing the mini setlist for her latest mini-show it seems she doesn't want to give any recognition to her newer work. She could have easily thrown in All Nite and So Excited.. So what if they weren't huge #1 hits? She needs to support her newer material and not discard it just because it wasn't much of a hit.

I'm really liking Damita Jo now. It's such a great summertime album.

Damita Jo has some great songs... I have no doubt despite what others say that if Nipple Gate had not happened.. that CD would not have flopped

she waited to long to release anything. had a single been ready to go the day after like say All Nite it would have done much better.

waiting for the controversy to blow over cost her the success and with no tour to support DJ to remind people why they like her, she killed 20YO before it even had a chance.

The Girlie Show saved a certain artist from obsucrity because it made people realize why she was who she was, and Freddy DeMann foreced her to go out on the road. She had not interest at first to do it.

I don't know? I bought the 5-track US promo CD on eBay on January 20th, 2004. The promos started appearing around mid-January. The song had a high debut on the Hot 100, and was at 28 million AI at pop radio just after the SuperBowl. Then radio just stopped playing it.

"Just a Little While" is the first single from Janet Jackson's 2004 studio album Damita Jo.

Jackson said that the song leaked and she and her record label had to rush with a video and promotion after the song made it worldwide. This was Jackson's first solo single to miss the top forty since her breakout album Control. The song received positive reception, but due to the Super Bowl incident, it was a commercial disappointment, peaking at #45 and lacked in urban radio airplay. After this single failed, "I Want You" was released, which lacked mainstream/pop radio airplay. There is also an original R&B version of "Just a Little While" produced by Just Blaze.
The video was directed by Dave Meyers. In the video, Janet makes a DVD for her boyfriend. He puts the DVD in the player and it shows her laying in bed. She gets up singing as she carries the camera in her hand. Then, Janet is shown enjoying her fruit on her penthouse balcony and sipping a drink. She gives a comical performance in front of the camera. It should be noted that during this "performance" she is wearing a costume very similar to the one she wore during the now infamous Super Bowl incident. Next, Janet's friends show up and they have a girlie party and play with the camera. At the end of the video, Janet is still making the DVD and her boyfriend shows up with a kitten as a present for her. In the video, she is wearing a costume very similar to the one she was wearing during her "wardrobe malfuction" at the 2004 Super Bowl. The video for this song was not released in the U.S. The video was not released on the DVD From Janet to Damita Jo: The Videos. It can be found on the "EMI DVD Sampler: Vol. 4" and for download on P2P Networking such as Kazaa.

The overall performance of "Just a Little While" was a moderate success outside of the United States. It managed to make the top five in Canada and the top twenty in Australia and UK. "Just a Little While" hit number one in Japan for five weeks

ok... but i'm still going to stand by not touring with DJ hurt her. Another artist tour after two very "commerically dissappointing albums" and hade better luck on his/her following albums.

Janet couldn't tour with Damita Jo because there was a) no label support and b) no promoter support.

labels make no money in tours and don't care if the artist tours. they throw no money into the tour.

she could have found a sponsor if really was interested in touring. she's a Jackson for crying out loud.

Yes, labels don't care if an artist tours or not, because the huge promo surrounding a tour of a major star like Janet generates zero album sales. lol

she could have found a sponsor if really was interested in touring. she's a Jackson for crying out loud.

Actually, no, she couldn't. Trust me on this one. No one would touch her. She has had trouble organizing promoters for the upcoming tour and it is 3 years later now.

i'm just saying if she could have found it within herself to tour after the whole world declared her carear over and crossing the line for not one, not two, but three overtly sexual things in a row... SEX, Erotica, and Body of Evidence with TIME, Newsweek, Life, CNN, Niteline and many others constantly calling her to quit. Janet could have found a way to tour behind DJ.

Look, I returned to the org in a very positive place and am not about to get involved in Janet vs. Madonna fan wars again. Madonna is great, Janet is great, but they are two very different women and two very different artists and the constant necessity for my-diva's-cock-is-bigger-than-your-diva's-cock comparisons on the org is absolutely ridiculous and very tiresome. If it's a Janet thread, Janet should be the topic of discussion. Not whether or not Janet should have done this or that like Madonna.

let me share a story. one day i made a comment on her about Kylie, which i didn't think much of because i think the world of Miss Minogue. some one sent me a hate mail to my personal email calling me a few choice names. i was like OMG who in their right mind would do that and why?

i seriously considered deleting my account and never coming back because of that. because in real life if i ever let someone's opinion about someone i don't know and will more than likely never meet bother me like than i've crossed a line from being a fan to something else.

there is soo much more in this world, i've been to hell and back and survived why grant people that kind of power over my life and my enteratinment?

don't take Music:Non-Prince so seriously it's entertainment.

I'm not taking the board seriously. I just think that there would be a lot less tension on the org if people didn't try to consciously bait or antagonize other fanbases, don't you? Maybe our discussions might actually go somewhere useful instead of devolving into random flaming and silly rivalries.

You can have your fun, but I'm no longer going to get involved in that sort of thing.

i guess that's where i'm differnt than you. I'll openly critize where I think the artists I like have maybe made a mistake. That doesn't mean I don't like them it just means they did soemthing that dissatisified me. We've all been there, and we're all entitled to voice that. I love Janet always have always will, the girl has made a few thousand dollars off of me in my 26 years of life. But that doesn't mean I'm always going to say rosy things about her.

Just like over on P&R I defend the Faith I grew up in, though I'm no longer a practicing Catholic, and I'll be the first to critize wehre I think the Holy Father is making a mistake. And the Church has more of an effect over my life than Janet or Madonna or Kylie or Prince.

We have to be open to all points of view otherwise it's not a dialouge. Did you see my post in P&R about my protest against a bunch of Fundamentalist Christians and how we ended up just talking to each, disagreeing but agreeing that we respected each other mroe because of the conversation?

We have to be open to diffent points of view. I feel that is what is wrong with America now, we try to shut each other up when we here a point of view that isn't the same as ours.

I'm not always right, you aren't always right, but we have to be willing to hear each other out either wise why bother discussing anything?

I don't think she's gonna tour. It's already May and she is saying that she hasn't made up her mind yet? That sounds like she doesn't really wants to tour right now.It would be a good idea to cancel the tour. She needs to re-group.She should drop the tired "sex goddess" image and go back into the studio and make a truly inspired album for a change.Forget Jam and Lewis,Jermaine Dupri,Nelly,etc.....stay away from R&B altogether! Call up Dangermouse (Gorillaz' producer and Gnarls Barkley member) and do a bunch of edgy uptempo tracks with him.Ask Robin Thicke for a handful of strong ballads/slowjams.Lyrically,she should sing about other things besides her sex drive.

Release the album by Christmas, then do a thrilling, knock em'dead tour in spring 2008.

I think she could do it.She just has to stop listening to the midget and take control of her OWN career wink She also has to be willing to re-invent herself a little and try some new beats and sounds.
