All of the albums that Janet recorded with A&M Records, with the exception of 1984's "Dream Street," are now available to purchase digitally on iTunes as of today.

The A&M compilation album "Design of a Decade: 1986-1996" was added only as a partial album and excludes both of the new songs that are exclusive only to that album, "Runaway" and "Twenty Foreplay," as well as a couple of other songs. It is unknown why they would not make the entire compilation in full available for purchase.

All of Janet's albums that she recorded for Virgin Records have been available on iTunes for a couple of years now.

As of today, the only albums from Janet's entire catalogue that are missing from iTunes are "Dream Street" and the full "Design of a Decade" album.

Design of a Decade: 1986-1996 (partial album)

The full "Dream Street" album and the remaining tracks that were missing from "Design of a Decade" have now been added for sale on the US version of iTunes.

With these two additions, Janet's full catalogue of albums is now available to purchase for the first time ever in digital format at the online store.

Runaway and Twenty Foreplay are probably owned outright by Janet herself and were only licensed to A&M. That compilation came about because Janet's first contract with Virgin was up (a somewhat convoluted story in itself), so she was a free agent at the time and did DoaD.

Did Giorgio Moroder compose the music for Dream Street?

If that's right, I'd really love to hear that album someday. Moroder is one of the greatest composers from the 1980s, along with Prince.

Nope, they are owned by A&M. Her contract with A&M was up and she was signed to Virgin when the album was released. When she signed the Virgin deal, she still owed A&M one last album. They allowed her to release the Janet album with the promise that she would provide a greatest hits package with new trax and that turned out to be Design of a Decade.

What a treat that Janet's 1982 debut is finally available in the marketplace again. Since the album has been long out of print, I'd say this is a coup for all early 80's Soul/R&B fans. Hot jams like "Say You Do" and "Young Love" never go out of style.

Dream Street is one of the worst, if not THE worst, album I've ever heard, so it has no business being released!

Dream Street is THE most sought after album that was NEVER transfer to a CD format in the USA (AFAIK). Real die-hard Janet-fans need this album in their collection. And instead of Universial doing the right thing in the name of making big money (in a good way for a change), they have to screw this up like a bunch of idiots!!! These people will stop at nothing to rewrite history and make it look like Janet never had a cult following long before Control.

To this day I don't have Dream Street on CD. It was always quite elusive to purchase.

The first and only time I ever seen this album was on vinyl and it belong to one of my neighbors back in the New Orleans East suburbs (BTW, it's a wasteland today because of Hurricane Katrina). If I would have known that Dream Street was never available in CD, I wonder have ask my neighbor to make a cassette copy for me.
